Dave Faust's pursuit of the 9th Region all-time victory record

St. Henry coach Dave Faust entered the season third on the Ninth Region all-time victory list with 451 in 30 seasons. Faust has since passed Stan Arnzen (452 wins) and moved into second place with a win against Conner. Former St. Thomas and Highlands high school coach Ken Shields holds the record with 460, all before he started coaching at Northern Kentucky University. Faust as of this writing 6 pm, Dec. 22, needs seven wins to tie Shields and eight to pass him. As coach Shields would probably say, "That's monumental!"

If he had stayed at Highlands for his remaining coaching years, and continued with the success he was having, this conversation would never be happening at any point. Taking nothing away from Coach Faust success, but I always like to see the winning pct as well.

Great question.  While they are recognized by the KHSAA, they're not a member.

They're recognized as wins by the KHSAA on the "Riherds Scoreboard," e.g. Highlands' 78-53 win vs. the Cincinnati Trailblazers is one of their 15 for the season.
