Well, sorry to say we have an update for our viewers, but still good news for our listeners for the Ryle at LexCath game Friday night. With Prep Spin streaming the game covering the game and an assumption by LexCath that we were doing audio only, we were informed we cannot provide video of the game. But we're so excited to be covering an out of town game to start the season and it being such an interesting and fun game, Kevin Connor and Mark Wehry will broadcast audio only. We're thankful to be working with the staff at LexCath so we can bring out fans in the (859) this game and we promise to paint the picture like you were there. Dixie went to the 6A finals in 2014.

Not many know this fun fact but I was the MVP of the first ever Holy Cross Indian soccer team that played in the fall of 1981 and spring of 1982. The following year, Holy Cross made one of their best hires in school history with Doug Graham as their soccer coach. He was there 25 years and had an incredible run of winning 3 straight regional titles. Then HC started football and haven't really come close to winning a boys soccer regional since. HS Football is wonderful, but can take a toll on other fall sports.

The entire game changed when Sully went with Rondon at the point as he handled the pressure as well as anyone could against CCH pressure and then Cooper went to a zone and packed it in and NO ONE for CCH was interested in shooting an outside shot, not even Ipsaro.

34th District champion Dixie Heights takes on 33rd District Champion Cooper Wednesday at 8:00. Cooper beat Dixie Heights 57-47 in the season opener November 30th. This game can be heard live on The (859) Sports Radio.

36th District winner NCC vs 33rd District Runner up Ryle in the 9th Region Semi's Wednesday at 6:30. Ryle owns a 73-43 win over NCC on Feb 11th. This game can be heard live on The (859) Sports Radio.

This should be a really fun game to watch as Lloyd is the healthiest it's been in a long time and want to avenge the 20 point loss earlier in the year and capture their first district title since 2017. The 33rd districts finals tonight has the #16 in Kentucky Cooper Lady Jaguars vs the #9 Ryle Lady Raiders. Clearly one of the best matchups in the state tonight. Is this a night where Ryle shows their dominance in the district continues or is this a passing of the torch to the very talented and hungry Cooper Lady Jags. Tonight the Holmes Basketball program will be honoring those a part of the rich history of William Grant/Lincoln Grant High School. They will be taking on the Pendleton County Wildcats. It's no coincidence that this game will welcome former Holmes player and assistant from the 2009 state champions team, Sam Elsbernd, as he makes his first return to Holmes as head coach of the Wildcats. Grant produced arguably the most storied player in the history of basketball Tom Thacker. Tom is the only player in history to win an NCAA Championship (UC Bearcats '61, '62) and an NBA Championship with the Celtics and an ABA championship with the Indiana Pacers. Tom became the first African American head coach at the University of Cincinnati and led the Lady Bearcats from 1974-1978. Tom earned his Bachelor and Masters degrees from UC and became a teacher. William Grant won 9th regional titles in 1958, 1959 and 1961. The game tonight (2/18) can be seen live on The (859) Sports Radio at 7:30.

And Lloyd will be healthy. Loved the Kaiser kid for St. Henry when we did their game at Lloyd on 2/1. Going to be a battle, which is why we will be there. One of the best semi-final district games in the state I feel.
