  1. My apologies. Just assumed everyone memorized all the games. ha The game will be played Tuesday 1/7 at Newport game time 7:30.
  2. This game will be live on (859) Sports Radio! Click here
  3. We will do everything in our power to broadcast this game weather permitting but we'll be on top of the press box and forecast is rain. We will see but wow we want to on (859) Sports Radio!!! Click here.
  4. Dixie Heights is certainly peaking at the right time winning 3 in a row and holding Ryle to 6 points. Simon Kenton won a shootout against Dixie a month ago and home field is huge. You can hear it all on (859) SPORTS RADIO. Click here.
  5. The game will be covered live on (859) Sports Radio! Click here
  6. Probably best first round game in the state and you can listen on (859) Radio!! Really can't wait for this rematch. It will be our 4th time broadcasting for each team. Click here
  7. Can't wait to see this battle for 5A top seed and (859) Sports Radio will be live. Click here to listen!
  8. Moral Victories are a myth as no one has the guts/pride to admit to one because of the negative connotation connected with them. That being said no matter what we're doing in life we evaluate where we were, where we are and where we're going. I think after that game HHS kids, coaches and fans can feel better about the direction they are headed. I would be proud of what Coach Weinrich has done with this team. HHS can only measure themselves in relation to CCH. They are not there yet and everyone knows it, but I think the pendulum has swung and the gap is not as great. All you can ask. HHS be proud of the work being done and the effort. As far as the goal line stand, I have zero problem with the defense being happy about stopping CCH there and reacting. That happiness should have ended by the handshake line.
  9. Not to bash the CCH stat guys because I love them all, and sometimes the Stat Crew software does very strange things, but the stat sheet we were given after the game showed an 89 yard run by Felix that did not happen. So I think those rushing and total yards passed onto this thread were a little exaggerated. Sometimes computers are just dumb. That being said the ability of HHS to keep the running game in check certainly kept this one respectable. I love watching Trey Gronotte kick FG's but the beauty of CCH is he usually doesn't get two chances. This game felt a lot more like 28-0 than 13-0. I think CCH would use Michael Mayer more if more were on the line than a seeding game that they were pretty confident they would win not matter how conservative or wide open the offense was. Nothing against HHS as they made drastic improvements from the Ryle game where they gave up about 10 sacks, but I think the LaSalle win over St X shows where this CCH program is when they want to go full throttle. After LexCath I was not sure how good CCH was. They are really really good.
  10. Just to let everyone know Mark Wehry and Kevin Connor will be live on (859) Sports Radio at Highlands Friday night when the Colonels visit Ft. Thomas. Get the popcorn ready!!!!! Click here.
  11. We will be broadcasting as it’s our game of the week! So if you can’t attend or want to listen to the archive go to 859sportsradio.com. This game is always a battle and this will be no different. Can’t wait!!! Click here
  12. You can listen to this game on 859sportsradio.com!!! Can’t wait!!! I’m told the series is dominated by NCC at 39-11 and 1 tie. The last time Newport won was 1999. Wow 20 years and they have a legit shot to bring home the Fireman’s trophy. This rivalry started in 1965. I was 1 year old!! And there were three years where they didn’t play.
  13. Really looking forward to broadcasting the game tonight on (859) Sports Radio! Should be a really great game. I was impressed with HHS last week against SK as Hollingsworth is that dual threat QB. England was so impressive two years ago as sophomore and has really progressed into that featured back we've gotten so used to at Ryle, as he's already up to over 500 yards on the ground. Click here to listen.
  14. Yes they did. And another win would be momentum back on their side. One win does not momentum make.
  15. If you can't make the game you can listen on (859) Radio!! Click here. You can listen after the game as well. I think this should be a great game actually. After 3 straight losses to the Pioneers, the Birds are trying to sway that momentum pendulum back to Ft. Thomas. I'm impressed with Hollingsworth throwing about 15 yards per completion and Erik Brown for Simon Kenton about 80 yards rushing a game. Can't wait to broadcast my first ever game from Simon Kenton!
  16. The game was broadcasted on (859) Radio. Click here. On hitch and go Jarren Hicks throws about a 67 Yard TD 1:30 into the game. Showing early on Dixie was going to have a hard time guarding WR's. Another TD 1:30 into the 2nd quarter making it 14-0. Dixie moved the ball but variety of mistakes stalling drives. Late TD made it 21-0 at halftime. A TD pass in the 3rd by Hicks and a rushing TD in the 4th by Hicks put the exclamation point on this one. So Hicks throws for 4 and rushes for 1 and no picks. Dixie swapped QB between Adams and Landers throughout the game. Dixie lets clock run out on the Conner 1 to end the game.
  17. Just wanted to let everyone know that (859) Sports Radio will be on the air Friday night as the Cougars visit the Colonels of Dixie Heights. Tune in live or listen to the archive. The upcoming games and archives can be found at (859) SPORTS RADIO. Enjoy the broadcast as it should be a really good high school football game. The atmosphere is always Friday Night Lights in Edgewood and a really good rivalry between these two teams. Can't predict a winner, but predict a close one.
