Ryle at Highlands Predictions/Updates
859Radio replied to Kenny Powers's topic in KY Football (High School)
I'll be me, it's all I know how to do. All's good with BlueBirdBath. Just emotions, I get that. But this will be one of the best games all season. Nathan Smith threw for 365? Verax could have a very big day too. Brody Benke aka slash we know will have a big day. That being said, holding Cooper to 10, hmmmmm, get the popcorn ready in Ft Thomas. -

Read your mind. We're going for the Ryle trifecta as I just asked Ryle if we can come back for Louisville Christian Academy on 9/15. -

I root for kids, their health and good games! Always have always will. I have no skin in the game which is refreshing. I've never left disappointed. I also need someone on camera from time to time as my guy Bill Bartlett has a job and is a foster dad, which is amazing. I will often choose someone I know from one of the schools playing to add some in-depth knowledge, like Coach Listerman did. He coaches and teaches there and his kids go there. He's allowed to say "we". On (859) there is no "we". I love what we're doing. Thanks for all the support. -

Thanks @Royal Blue for those very kind words!! Yes, far from perfect, but definitely impartial. But @Bluebirdbathyou could not be more mistaken about what you've put in this thread and once you figure it out, I would hope to see a retraction. There were 3 media outlets there that night and two of them have been mentioned here. I've attached the link to our broadcast archive. Feel free, anyone feel free to listen/watch and find one word of what you said you heard on our uncut version of the game. I would say it was probably one of our best and impartial broadcasts ever. Heck, we had Kevin Listerman, the head boys basketball coach, on camera and microphone. Not sure who it was and don't care who it was. But I really care who it wasn't, and it wasn't (859) Sports Radio that said anything even close. We touched on how bad timing some of the penalties were and they were. I will openly admit to love for my neighbor and team Captain one of the wreckers of Ridgetop Way Big Ben Reeves because I've known the kid almost his entire life. If you know you you'll understand why he's easy to love as a person and a player. But my team of myself, Kevin Connor and Kevin Listerman had an outstanding broadcast that night and nothing came over our airwaves that I would be embarrassed about or be considered partial. ZERO. @thegurulistened, he will back me. Also @Runcible Owlyou're the best!! But no past history ever comes into my booth. And we don't have a principal. I'm the principal! https://www.meridix.com/event/234764 -

Too much talent on the field I think for a blowout, but turnovers can certainly make a game look not as close as it really was. One team dominating, I don't see that happening. -

Holy Texas humidity Batman, the heat index is 114 and dew point is 81!! New records for my memory. -

I agree hydration is key every day. I'm talking more about the KHSAA heat index threshold and at what point tonight it will be safe to play. All the electrolytes in Ft. Thomas won't help with that. -

The heat index is 110 and the dew point is 80, 3 degrees higher than I've ever seen it. I track this like a hobby. If they play, bring the coffee. Going to be a late night. You read it here first. -

The heat index was 101 at 11:15 this morning. Are we kidding ourselves with the 8:00 start time or even the possibility we have HS football tonight? Thoughts? -

You're very kind @Jimmy McGill!! This is my hobby and my loyal fans love coming to our site and not being slammed with fees just to watch a high school game online. We have one sponsor as Ken Morgan supplies our Cricket Wireless hotspot. I have a great job that makes me money. No one needs to pay to watch me enjoy my hobby. Thanks to everyone who listens and watches us. Enjoy the break from having to pay. -

Newport 72 Highlands 61 (36th District Championship)
859Radio replied to mcpapa's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
@FrankNicodemus, we always appreciate your support and kind words and we're thrilled to be bringing our fans the best, highest quality broadcast around, and for free. Thanks to all of the AD's who let us in to do this. I have the best broadcast team around. Bert is so knowledgeable and an amazing delivery. Dom, what can I say. 7th grader and amazing at camera. Jason Elfers and David Hartman will be with me for post season and they are right at the top of this field. You are correct about audio only for region and state. Trust me we will paint the picture for all 7 boys and 7 girls games. Congrats to Newport on the 36th district championship. These two teams will give this region a run for their money. And they have such huge followings. We had a record for a non state basketball game last night surpassing the old record Holy Cross vs Newport all A finals by 200 viewers. This region is so even I can't even seed it. Can't wait to see how this plays out. -
As long as I can remember, when these two coaches go against each other, it's always a treat. Cooper trying to prove to the region that they are still relevant after the devastating loss of Caleb Brooks. CCH trying to show the rest of the region is still looking up at the defending champs after their home loss to Conner. You can watch this one on (859) Sports Radio tonight at 7:30!
