Here we go, here are the schedules for this week, get out and see some great Girls' Basketball and watch these young ladies play to keep their seasons going.  I love watching anyone play something that matters so much to them, and these next two weeks are the epitome of that!!

The 33rd district can be seen on The (859) Sports Radio!!  One of the best first round matchups in the state Cooper and Conner at 7:45 Tuesday 2/22.  Ryle and Boone Co at 6:00.

Big night in the NKY, as all 4 9th Region districts play their semi-finals this evening around the area.  Please remember to start a new thread for each game result and conversation, and again, get out and see some great basketball tonight.  Half of the teams that play tonight will be ending their long seasons, so be mindful of that as you applaud their efforts as the finality sinks in for these players, their coaches, and their families.  An exciting night, to be sure, but always a brutal night as well.

The 8 teams who will play at BB&T starting on Sunday in the 9th Region Tourney are all set.  Tonight, those 8 play for District Championships, Saturday morning they will be bracketed based largely on tonight's results, and we tip it off on Sunday at 1:00 PM.

Ryle & Cooper

Dixie & Ludlow

Notre Dame & Holy Cross

NewCath & Highlands

I'm going with Cooper (because @Big Red said so), Dixie by a ton, NDA by more than a ton, and then the last one, wait for it, wait for it......

BIRDS over BREDS in a thrilla!

Shocker right?!?!

I will be surprised if the margin in NDA / HC is wider than that of Dixie / Ludlow.

Birds over Breds, while an upset, is certainly plausible.

I'm going to lean to dominant guard play as the most important factor when we get to this time of the season in high school.  Give me Macie and Lacey and The Freihoffer sisters, and it comes down to that for me.  How big was the graduation of Crittenden at Ryle?  She ran the team, and they have, at times, looked lost without her (despite all of their talent).  How impactful was Lockhart?

Cooper for reasons above.  NDA and Dixie both comfortably.  I know nothing about the Birds, but looks like they have some momentum, so why not!?!?!?!

I’m going with:

Cooper- playing Great which will make a tough first round game for a 1 seed on Sunday vs Ryle

Dixie

NDA - will be a game for 3 quarters but I expect NDA to pull away.

Newport - it is fun to watch Marissa Green play for highlands but NCC has the edge in this one.

I heard that NDA HC game will be on NFHS network tonight.

3 out of 4 isn't bad, but I feel like a baseball player that hit 3 singles with the bases empty with 2 outs and I don't score and the 1 that I missed was with the bases loaded down 1 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th.  You know what I mean.......

Still love my Birds!  Onto BB&T!
