  1. He was Noel’s old head coach at TMU, could be life coming full circle and Vic comes back from the moth balls to take the reigns from his former protege! Noel could run a puppet regime from behind the curtains!🤔
  2. Tigers bringing Vic Clark out of retirement?
  3. Spot on….these “offers” today, are not like they used to be 20-25 years ago, when if they offered you a scholarship it meant you had a scholarship. Now most of these offers are non-committable, which is like giving your girlfriend a promise ring, and never actually getting her a real engagement ring and eventually getting married. It’s really ridiculous when some of these teams offer 25 plus guys at one position.
  4. I would think this far removed from National Signing Day, that it is a PWO, but maybe not.
  5. Let's be clear ... No One is calling Cash out. And that's all that needs to be said about the situation. The truth is out there - people don't have to look to find it
  6. North Laurel, I think has the star of the future with Brooke Nicholsen. She reminds me of Sophie Galloway from Marshall County a few years back in their big run. Sophie was the most impressive track and field talent in Kentucky for an extended period of time ... came out and played basketball and help a ton. Brooke reminds me of her ... physically, quick off the dribble ...plays defense and scores. Great job by GRC ... very impressed by Nicholsen.
  7. I’d say the QB room goes: 1. Pitzer 2. Reardon 3. Harney
  8. He attended parochial schools early, then went to a public high school for education but only until after his freshman basketball season when the top PG in the region graduates does religion suddenly matter to the family. Makes sense.
  9. What’s going to get lost in all of this is how well the football program was able to navigate through everything this year. Dealing with this family and injuries and still able to hoist the trophy is impressive. According to some of the players, the family refused to allow him to move positions when the coaches tried after Clay Hayden came back from injury. That’s crazy. But back to the thread topic, the 2023 Tigers are going to be really good. One less distraction and tons of talent in the program. Whoever gets the HC job is in a really good position to succeed immediately.
  10. If the state buys into “religious exemption”, then they have zero credibility. Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t his sister go to 3 high schools in 4 years?
  11. Didn’t Geisler, Starks, and Mason all end up eventually leaving CCH?
  12. Essentially drove one of the best high school football coaches in the state of KY to retirement and had the basketball coach ready to call it quits mid season. Crazy.
  13. I can promise you one thing, he comes with A TON of baggage
  14. Beechwood hasn’t done spring ball in a long time, if ever. Too many multi-sport athletes playing baseball and running track.
  15. I haven’t heard that, but it’s honestly become ridiculous how long it takes to vote for the award. I believe last year they named Mr. Basketball before they announced Mr. Football. Why is it so difficult to have the AP voters pick a winner shortly after the season is over? Back in the day they would name the winner right at the end of the season. I don’t believe they actually even give the winner an award anymore, they just name a winner. Meanwhile basketball has an entire awards show dedicated to it.
  16. And it’s still tough for Beechwood to get teams to play them.
  17. So they will punt the ball 1 minute sooner than normal and give the ball back to the other team.
  18. Interesting assessment. I wonder how long it will be before that happens?
  19. I would agree with this, good schedule maybe, but I wouldn’t call it a tough schedule.
  20. Is this really a tough schedule? Beechwood was replaced by Raceland, which is a downgrade, and Conner and Scott are terrible.
  21. What does "young" have to do with being the right person at the right time? Exhibit 1: Noel Rash ... Probably one of the more "energetic" coaches in this state ... Pretty sure he is pushing 60. I doubt anyone younger can bring the same type of energy he brings (not to mention there are 2 guys on his staff who are 70 who bring more energy than the overwhelming majority of coaches I have seen in the last 40 years). Point being ...Scott should find the right person ...youth and energy are byproducts of great coaches ...not mandatory hiring points. Experience and the ability to lead and most importantly ...getting kids to do things they don't think they can do are traits few (if any) young coaches have mastered. For the life of me I do not understand why schools like this don't pound the pavement, contact successful head coaches to see if they have assistants who are interested in being head coaches. Business as usual = waiting to see who applies ...then the same committee garbage (knowing the principal has ultimate hiring and firing authority). Which continues to produce the same results. So, not a shot at you, Conch .... Just not so sure I agree.
  22. I was told the schedule was finished, except for the week 1 bowl opponent. Sounds like they’re going back to Fairdale to play in their bowl game, which hopefully goes back to a 4 team format like years past. The non-district opponents are CovCath, Campbell, Dixie and Simon Kenton, not sure in what particular order.
  23. All district weeks for Beechwood ... With 5 district games. I think Pikeville may happen sometime in the future.
