If you think JH has a good coaching staff then you probably don't know the entire staff...JH should have beaten NH fairly easy, but they didn't and it's directly related to the staff. I have the utmost respect for you and your opinions...they are usually spot on. But this coaching staff is not very good as a whole. They are in fact just as much the problem as anything else. The dynamic between coach Lewis and his dad doesn't work well together. And some of the assistants just aren't very good. This is not your old JH teams

I don't want to take anything away from those kids at North Hardin. They played extremely hard and conducted themselves exemplary. BUT THE OFFICIALS in that game should be disciplined. There were numerous questionable calls and non calls in that game. It may have been the most bizarre game I've ever seen in person

Brother, that's not a top tier 6A team. That is a one man gang...Bankhead. JH continually marched down the field and continually self destructed.....discipline and leadership

i think what's most disheartening is the lack of discipline and leadership. Coupled with the fact that this team isn't as good as originally thought...makes for a long year. Make no mistake this coach Lewis's fault. That culture didn't arrive until he took over. That was a bad loss to an average at best NH team. If JH wins a stae title that's an indictment on the poor play of Kentucky ftball

Whatever offense Bowling Green is running....lol On a serious note the perfect offensive scheme is a balanced attack. And I don't think the wing T subscribes to a balanced attack. There is a distinct difference in having passing plays and a passing game. At some point; a team will have the dogs up front to contain the wing T.....then most wing T offenses are stuck in the mud. In addition; I think it hinders the recruitment of a lot of kids in the state. There are some very talented kids stuck running a dinosaur offense that by and large doesn't translate to the next level. IMO....Offenses are good when you can keep the defense off balanced

Bankhead completed 7 passes last week. Although I love Bankhead; those aren't numbers that torch the screen. JH played Bowling Green last week...enough said. I think you're just stoking flames with this 2 td win by north AT JOHN HARDIN btw. JH was embarrassed last week and thank God it seems they took it a little personal. I think the Dawgs will be a bit too much for the Trojans tonight; if North couldn't stop a bunch of Freshman and Sophomores from Boyle from running the ball...I don't think they're gonna contain Shorter and Livers. Dawgs by at least 2 TD's.

interested also to see the psyche of JH. They need a good win for the team. Anything other than a convincing win against an ok NH team could spell trouble for a team void of leadership.

Christian County lost to an ok John Hardin team last year with Kinner. Last weekend's performance aside; JH is a better team this year....and what I witnessed BG doing to them on last Saturday was down right criminal. I don't think Christian County has a chance. It may not be as bad as JH; but it will be bad. Running clock mid third quarter.

Agreed. Kel Stotts is a big deal in the 5th. It may not make state wide news but most 5th region folks recognize it. As for Fern Creek; the hype was too early for them. This year they will be able to show what they can do. Not only Price and Moore, Clint and Tony and the rest of that group will be formidable this year. They were just anointed a little too early.

Even with King I don't think Lex Christian would have been a contender. Rhodes can't carry that big of a load. He is a really good player but not that kind of player yet to put them at number 7 in the state. North Hardin lost entirely too many good role players off that team last year to dominate anything this year. After Trace and Tony Jackson, the drop off is too big. They have too many unproven people behind them. Bardstown and John Hardin will give them all they can handle....I wouldn't even put them as the favorite in the region this year. I haven't even heard if Trace's transfer has been approved yet. Anyone have any info on that at this point

Congrats to Tony, he is by far the most underrated on the team. A real good all around basketball player. But, I don't know if he has the most upside or if he's the best on that team. And you're right he's about 6'2/6'3 on his best day. In any case again congrats and well deserved.

All offers aren't the same most of the time. How much does the school really want you. How early do you wanna play. Proximity to family and friends. Congrats to the young man and his family.

I wish I knew...lol. They have the opportunity to be really good this year. The all time leading scorer in Matt Miller has departed; but most think that might be the best thing for this team. They will be much deeper this year with good talent. They are bigger and longer as well along the back line. They've added three really good transfers in PrinceWill Robinson (6'6 plays AAU with team vision), a kid from Central from Central Hardin, and Darrion Davis. These are really quality additions. Add in the return of Anthony Witherspoon and that's essentially 4 transfers who will compete for starting positions on the roster. They return one of the top 2018 kids in Mickey Pearson, who is just primed for a breakout season. He avg 16 and 10 last year. They moved to the 3 spot some this summer and he gave teams fits. At about 6'7 he has a very good skill set. He will come into his own this year. Devonte Guillory returns for his senior season; and if you saw him this summer he was played extremely well; he more than anybody benefited from Miller's departure probably. Coaches are expecting big things from him. Their biggest issue before the summer was depth at the guard position, but those transfers have answered those questions. They have the talent to be really good, to be great Pearson and Guillory will need to come through for them. The region should come down to John Hardin, Bardstown, or North Hardin. McCurry won't have excuses this year; this is his most talented team thus far.

Boyle will have to score a lot of points in this one. Bankhead and that offense will roll. He is a very seasoned and accurate QB. Jay Pitre on the outside at about 6'5 makes things that much worse. North will roll in this one; too early in the season for Boyle to figure out that offense.

The matchup between Witherspoon and Vito won't happen. Witherspoon is primarily used on the defensive side of the ball. Which says a lot about JH skill position talent on offense. Unfortunately for JH, that's where most of their talent lies. The offensive line will be exposed greatly against BG. Daviess County continually penetrated the backfield in the scrimmage. On the defensive side John is not that bad; BG will be too much for them though...good news is they won't face anyone like BG's offensive talent the rest of the year. Should be a good year for the Dawgs just not this weekend. BG 55-JH 20

I hope it works out for Trace. I've never had issues with the transferring either. If you have never been apart of the AAU and recruiting circus, it might be difficult to see it in Trace's light. The kid is 6'8 ish, with a nice all around game. It's difficult to find a "right fit" for him because Kentucky don't put out a lot of those type of kids (in my opinion). My son had to deal with this his first two years of high school. Big man, Big man, Big man.....post up, post up, post up...and you never get a chance to show your real skill set. Let him transfer, good luck to him and anyone else who decides to transfer. The kid a John Hardin played AAU with team vision I think. I don't really know where he played high school ball at last year; but his situation is a little different. His paperwork won't have nearly as much scrutiny/attention as Trace's.....IMO

My brothers, I don't really know this athlete/discipline thing got here but you can be very very very athletic; and not have any discipline. Back to the real issue; John Hardin had their scrimmage yesterday against Daviess County. Just like most people thought; the O-line is the one of the biggest concerns for this team. The discipline is a concern but it's not as big this year with this group. They will as a team; have to learn to accept their individual roles to make the team better. Every player and their parent associated with John Hardin typically believes their son is the best player on the team. And they pout and disrupt chemistry when they don't get playing time or play at a position they think they should be playing. It is the same issue with the bball team, soccer team, baseball team etc. etc. This is the nature of a transient team (a lot of military kids and parents). And football probably more than most other sports demands team unity and chemistry. This will be John Hardin's biggest challenge

Watched John Hardin at their scrimmage yesterday. Can't take too much from scrimmages I know but wow; I really expected more than what we saw. That offensive line needs a lot of improvement. That BG game just got a lot uglier for John Hardin

@Hardin County Preps...I got you. I was commenting as to what Spinstopshere said about athleticism and talent. It sounded like he was trying to link the two together.

Heard some not good rumblings about his situation at North Hardin this week. District 17 (Central Hardin and Etown) kids have some let's just say very concerned and influential members of the community.

Athleticism has nothing to do with discipline my man...there are plenty of undisciplined athletes around. Discipline takes you to another level, which is where John Hardin will need to get to. With that being said, they will need to get some depth at the o-line position to start talking championship though. I heard some names that might be starting on the o-line and those names make me a little nervous. Witherspoon is a good talent; he isn't the most talented in the region...he hasn't played an organized sport in over a year. But overall the talent on the team is incredible, most football junkies however know that the game is won in the trenches; and this is where I think JH might come up short.
