UHA returns IMHO the best player in the region in Tray Hollowell and another top 3 player in KyKy Tandy. UHA has a good chance to win the region. Christian County also returns a top 3 player in Jaylen Sebree who I believe took a back seat role to Edwards last season. County will also have Tiavey Maxon and Detorrion Ware. Hopkinsville has a nice team but I don't see them having an easy road to rupp. I think there's a 3 way tie at #1 in the 2nd region right now. Should make for an interesting season.

Hoptowns biggest player will be 2017 g CJ Henegan. I'd say he's around 6'4 after him the players that play will range from 5'8- 6'2. I also don't think the tigers will be very deep. In the past they've played 8-10 players. This year I'm gonna say they only go 6 deep before a HUGE drop off in talent. County and Heights won't be big either though and Heights might only be 6 deep also.

Christian County will be big with Sebree and Ware both at 6'6 but neither one of them play like a 6'6 kid. Both play a lot of perimeter basketball. I don't think the height issue for Hoptown will become an issue until the state tournament. I want Christian County to win the region but I just can't see them being the same team without Edwards. He was a special player that carried them in big moments.

Hoptown losing the former UHA transfer, Edwards, I think his name was, is a killer. he was going to be their big man. Hennigan is 6'1.5. nowhere near 6'4.

Hoptown's biggest issue will be that they won't be able to play their "maul ball" rick pitino type press where they grab and clutch the entire game forcing turnovers. In the past they've had 10 guys who could play. They may not have but 7 or 8 guys. It's been proven over and over they can't beat good teams in the half court. Cager and Johnson are both very good, but after hennigan it's a huge question mark.

I'd make county he favorite because of their size. It killed hoptown last year and I expect it to be the same this year. ware and sebree are both terrific players and they will have a nice guard in mason to compliment them

Uha doesn't have a "big man" but they've got a couple of athletic 6'2 guys who will understand their role is to defend and play defense. if hollowell and tandy play well together and McGowan shoots like the best shooter in the region then they will be very tough to stop. UHA will be much deeper this season. likely 8 deep which for them is the longest bench they've had in 5 years.

I'm pulling for UHA to with the region because I'm a big fan of Tray and KyKy. I think Hopkinsville will be lucky to make the region tournament this year.

No sense in debating a kid's height. But the hoptown roster lists him at 6'3. Same roster has cager at 5'10. I'd be shocked if he's actually an inch over 6'1.5.

Either way, they don't have a big man.

No sense in debating a kid's height but I'm going to debate a kid's height. Sorry I couldn't resist. :lol2:

James Nicholas....may very well be the best player on this team (Think JaQualis Matlock who can handle the ball.) He is going way under the radar. Johnson and Cager make one of the best backcourts in the state. However the team is small, but I do not understand the statements of lack of talent. They have 8 very good players and another 3-4 who are contributors.

James Nicholas tore his ACL in summer ball.
