Is this the same knee he had been having problems with? I hope he makes a speedy and healthy recovery.

James did NOT tear his ACL and he will be playing this season. I have personally watched him play in late July. He did hurt his knee back in June, but it wasn't as serious as a torn ACL.

I'm honestly not sure. but I believe he tore his acl at an aau event in Louisville. Sad deal for him. By all reports, a pretty good kid.

 

Imagine the UHA team that could have been if he and sebree hadn't left? Woah.

On June 24th Chris Jung tweeted that James NiCholas is believed to have torn his ACL at the Samford basketball camp. And from what I'm hearing from around Hopkinsville he did tear his ACL.

My information could be wrong but I doubt it. But I'm not sure who Silo would have James mixed up with so maybe he didn't actually tear it maybe he just dislocated he knee.

It was a bone bruise not a tear according to an assistant at hoptown. Verified that today.

That happened to me in high school too. My knee dislocated and popped back together and the bones hit, my knee was bruised. I'm very glad to hear that! With Nicholas healthy I might pick Hopkinsville to beat County but I still don't know if they have what it takes to beat UHA this year.

For UHA to. Win region they will have to learn to play defense and break a press. If they can do that they can do a lot of damage when they get to rupp

Hoptown has added more height and a couple of additional shooters, you must be kidding McGowan best shooter in region. When the season start there will be some big surprises. Hoptown is truly 10 deep now. Essentially with four starters returning and a part time one, who will guard the ball.

Being able to play defense is the key. Hoptown's won the region a handful of times recently with no halfcourt offense. Which is why they get beat in rupp. They've had the players to win state but their coaches have been shortsighted in how they play the regular season. Instead of developing a solid half court offense they'll need in rupp where it's tougher to press (because teams are better and the court is bigger) they go for the easy blowouts by running and jumping with their press.

 

I firmly believe they would have won state the year Jordan major was a senior had they been a solid halfcourt team. Instead they pressed dominque Hawkins and couldn't stay in front of him and gave away the title.

 

I'd say that general rule goes for Christian County, hoptown or University Heights. Whoever plays the best defense will likely win the region. They've all go the athletes to do it, but "who will"?

 

I still give Christian County the edge as I believe their size gives them a big advantage.
