There are almost 10-12 people you could say that for in this class including Faulkner. Trevon got a lot of pub and deservedly so; but he had a talented group around him this season. He is a great player but there are some 2018 kids out there that you will hear about real soon

Tony Jackson from North Hardin should put up big numbers this year.

I don't think this game will be close. Can anyone explain how they come up with the matchups at the Sweet Sixteen. Seems a little unfair that Mercer has to deal with Dunbar and Murray gets Buckhorn or TC gets Mason County. Even with Pig; I don't think Mason had much of a chance against TC.

I'm sure Gaines had interest in TC as well. Gatewood or Cox or anyone else don't need to recruit kids to TC. Kids want to play with Gooden and Sloan...why you say....college coaches and recruiters will always be around. As for Gooden not winning or even being honorably mentioned as Mr Basketball, shame on the adults for doing that to that young man. But I've come to realize in the state of Kentucky this is about par for the course.

Stay in zone as long as you can. Don't press, this gives Oliver and Gaines easy scoring opportunities. If you man them the whole game without a great TEAM defense; you won't beat Gooden and Sloan. IMO

Garrison cannot guard Sloan. I don't know whose gonna win but they have a chance if they have a good inside game and can control the tempo of the game. Good rebounders sometimes gets Q in foul trouble, and it takes away his aggressiveness to the rim. If you can make him a jump shooter the better your chances

What he said....I'm pulling for him even more after hearing all the non sense some of the adults in this state say about the kid. Appreciate what the young man has done in his high school career.

Absolutely what you said. Strong guards is North's Kryptonite. They won't turn TC over. In addition with Gaines hitting the glass; another one of North's weaknesses, this may be a long night for the Trojans. Looking forward to watching this one though.

Central Hardin has won two of its last two elimination games in about the same manner. Matt Miller; John Hardin's all time leading scorer was at the line with 3 seconds left to win the district semi final game. He missed one of two...game went into overtime and well as they say the rest is history. Might be some destiny for this group

Just be consistent. When you're not consistent; that's when I have a problem. In the 5th region; there are certain teams that are gonna get a pass. It's well known. But at the very least be consistent. If something is a foul on one end; let it be a foul on the other end.

That may be true; but the answer to the original question is correct. Those kids are older and it's extremely apparent in the middle school tournament. It's unfair and it is ridiculous to continue trying to defend it. Holding your kid back to gain an advantage on younger kids is crazy. IMHO

This is a tricky business; and yes it is a business. Visits are really not visits in a lot of cases. All of this will play out for some well deserving kids on this lists and not on this list. I've traveled and attended a lot of AAU/High School/summer league games. And I can tell you without a doubt some of the top kids on this list have absolutely been shredded by kids not close to being on this list.

Is there a kid named Dalton on Mason County's team. Would be a sophomore. I watched some AAU games last summer and thought he might have some potential this year. I thought his AAU coach said he played at Mason county.

I'm worried about 5th region coaches voting. I've seen the all region team and something is not right about that list. IMO.

A lot of old school thinking on this thread. Most kids playing high school ball want to play college ball. All kids playing high school ball don't get a chance to show their true abilities on high school teams. AAU is here to stay; everyone makes money off these kids...including probably your high school coach. In return a kid that is restrained by most high school coaches with egos the size of watermelons, gets a chance to display his talents. Not pretty; but reality

Green County hasn't played nearly the competition that Taylor County has. Not even close.

Goes a little bit deeper than this. A lot of kids want to be put in the best possible position to go to and succeed at the next level. Trace is a long and rangy; with a lot of perimeter skills that most coaches would plant in the post for their own selfish purposes. Those kids don't get the opportunity to show their true ball skills in most high schools in KY. It's a difficult juggling act for the coach and the player. I don't condone 3 schools in 2 years; but I know where Trace is coming from....I've lived it. AAU was supposed to bridge that divide, and allow players to show their true individual skills; but we know how that went.

Bardstown is a very tough place to play. And looking at this season; there is no way you can count out anyone. Any team can be beat this year. Bardstown defense is very tough in their building. And I'm sure you're on point about the free throw discrepancy as well. But I just don't think we should take anything away from those kids that went out and won the game; as opposed to just saying the Chargers didn't show up.
