Taylor Co., the preseason No. 1, struggled after several early losses, including that 46-point head-scratcher to CovCath, and the 13-point setback to Adair Co. The addition of Dylan Gaines gives the Cardinals another weapon, and Quentin Goodin's focus on his all-around game has reaped benefits in hot shooting from outside by David Sloan. Since a 12-point loss to Doss on Jan. 9, the Cardinals have lost just once, a stretch that has seen them win 15 of 16. The turnaround began Jan. 14 with an 8-point win at North.

 

Since the loss to Taylor, North Hardin has been a strong team hanging around the 15-20 range of the rankings, despite back-to-back February losses to Henry Clay (by 21 at Nicholas Co.) and at Bardstown (76-73 in OT). Tony Jackson is a game-changing player, but the Trojans need to be able to play with cohesion to beat a Taylor squad that is definitely better than the one North saw in early January.

This will be a great game. I'm gonna take Taylor County and their momentum for the win. I wouldn't be surprised if North Hardin won. They have a good team. Taylor County is hot right now though.

If North can play together, with their length on the wings they can cause smaller Taylor a lot of problems. I'm not convinced they can. I saw an awful lot of 3-on-1 breaks end in turnovers against Green Co. because nobody wanted to dish it off.

I will take North.. I think the length will be key as well. Now if Sloan knocks down shots like he did in district tourney I am not sure any team in state can beat Taylor. Agree North must pass the ball to create better on the breaks

Didn't see the game this year, but I saw the Regional semi's last year and I thought NH plays into TC hands. With Goodin and Sloan it's almost impossbile to press and trap them. Although NH has some of the top athletes in the Bluegrass. Should be another great game. What a night to be at Nelson county High school 2 GREAT Games.

Absolutely what you said. Strong guards is North's Kryptonite. They won't turn TC over. In addition with Gaines hitting the glass; another one of North's weaknesses, this may be a long night for the Trojans. Looking forward to watching this one though.

Truly any of the 4 teams left could win the Region. The addition of Gaines gives TC the edge IMO.
