Central Hardin had a couple of transfers come in to help. They should be strong; don't think as strong as last year though. They lost a lot from last years squad. Which brings me to the John Hardin spot. I think you're a bit off with the Central and Etown ranking above John. JH should be primed for a big year this year; barring injuries. They are absolutely loaded this year. Most people around the program have been pointing to this season for a year or two. They won't match up great with BG at the beginning of the year; but they will compete with them. They got some significant transfers in to fill some key spots for them. Shorter, Livers, and Cleveland make a formidable backfield. The defense will be stronger this year; they will need to find an outside LB, but Coach Lewis has an abundance of talent to choose from. I think JH got caught up with playing a couple of seniors last year that he probably shouldn't have. that younger group was much more talented.

Good luck to Trace, it's really difficult to explain situations like this unless you've been apart of the circus. He and Jackson should do good things at North Hardin. It won't be a cake walk for then though. North Hardin lost some important pieces from that team last year.

Indeed Trace Young has transferred to North Hardin. I hope it works out for the kid. North Hardin really needed that boost...it was shaping up to be a long year for the Trojans.

BG is just over the top right now. I don't know if we will find out who JH is after that game. That's literally grabbing the tiger by the tail in the first week. They will be competitive though. Hoss is right about the O-line; I don't think they will be able to handle BG up front throughout the course of a game. But John Hardin can match most teams talent for talent.

Numbers have continued to drop. The new Army unit won't bring in a significant number. That being sad the football and basketball programs should have banner years. Witherspoon won't be the QB, they have a transfer in from out of state...word is he is pretty good. Fits the wing T to perfection. Got another transfer from Jtown I think(lineman). The team is loaded with talent, biggest issue with this team I think is the coach. Very good X and O guy I think; he just has a hard time keeping kids egos in check. A good chemistry year from this team could mean something real special for this group. Most people that follow JH have pointed to this year. They have a deep and talented Senior and Junior class.

The 5th gets no love on this board...lol But I'll give a couple of names that I'm familiar with. Jackson(North Hardin) of course. Pearson and Guillory from John Hardin will put up big numbers this year. If Pearson gets a little bulk the sky is the limit for him. And one guy Darius Hardin from Etown will surprise a lot of people....very skilled CG. These are all 17th District guys I admit I don't know much about the rest of the region this year.

Andrew Taylor also has an offer from EKU. In addition; I was told that Samford has only offered Steven, JJ Reed, Kunkel, Pearson and Wales. I could absolutely be wrong, but I trust this source.

Steven picked up another offer from Middle Tenn State. From what I hear; the kid killed it this summer.

Is Nelson 2017 or 2018. I know he is very good; saw it up live and personal last year, but I thought he was a 2017 kid.

BTW rumor is UK will be out to watch him this weekend as well...yeah you can get excited about this one.

I'll get a first hand view of him Friday; I'll let everyone know how he looks in real life. But from all accounts, the kid can't flat out play. He's been playing against Jr's and Seniors on the AAU circuit all summer. Great addition for BG

NCC and John Hardin probably the better two teams in the tourney. Played two games and split. John Hardin won the first meeting on a last second shot; NCC won the second meeting as John Hardin misses a final second shot. Not real sure why they were on the same side of the bracket. Very impressed with NCC and the way the kids play

If the Breds are NCC; then yes he played.

This sir is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH. So many kids in this state particularly are disadvantaged by this.

I think it's valuable. Gives the coach a glimpse of what's on tap for next season with the bullets firing. Gives him a chance to make some adjustments if need be for the start of practice in the fall. I wouldn't say it's imperative; but I think there's some value to it

It's just an opinion list. Heck the so called experts can't even get it right. Good conversation piece. This is a deep and talented group...I don't know if there are any national elite players in the state; but very talented none the less

Steven "Shorty" Cager Like I said I think this is a pretty good class and deep overall. The margin between 1-15 is so small; I don't know if there is any one player with some real separation. I do like Andrew Taylor though...if you haven't seen this kid play, please do. Uncanny ability to do a lot of things. Defense could get better; but not much he can't do on the court.
