tygroves Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Who is the early favorite for top player in the region? Last year Faulkner, Goodin, Miller and Sloan were no brainers. Anyone like to share early top players list for 2016-2017?
dognation Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 The 5th gets no love on this board...lol But I'll give a couple of names that I'm familiar with. Jackson(North Hardin) of course. Pearson and Guillory from John Hardin will put up big numbers this year. If Pearson gets a little bulk the sky is the limit for him. And one guy Darius Hardin from Etown will surprise a lot of people....very skilled CG. These are all 17th District guys I admit I don't know much about the rest of the region this year.
ACfan4 Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I can name at least 3 guys from Adair County who will all be seniors. Chance Melton who averaged 15 and 8 last year, Cameron Lasley who averaged 17 and 7, and Kel Stotts who is transferring back from Russell Co.
Jim Schue Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Jackson's the front-runner for region POY. At Bardstown, they'll have a solid three-headed monster in PG Santrel Farmer, wing Kel Livers and post TraJan Walls. If they can find some size for rebounding and interior defense they'll be dangerous again, and they probably will be anyway without that. Nelson Co's Max Ryan figures to be one of the better shooters in the region.

I don't think Adair can win the region, but they've got the tools to be very dangerous and a possible runner-up.

It's because few of the 5th Region folks who terrorized the other Wild West board haven't made their way over, for whatever reason. I've tried to do my part.
Cards15 Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) Tony Jackson by far is the best player in the Region. The kid at John Hardin then follows Farmer at Bardstown and Ryan at Nelson. And with that I saw Ryan hit 9 threes against Bullitt East in a controlled scrimmage this summer Edited August 5, 2016 by Cards15
MrKnowNothing Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Trace Young is a good one too.. Especially since he will be on same team as Jackson at North

At last check he had 48 points and 21 rebounds.

dognation Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Indeed Trace Young has transferred to North Hardin. I hope it works out for the kid. North Hardin really needed that boost...it was shaping up to be a long year for the Trojans.
