How do you think North will fare in the region

I know this isn't exact science but Eastern matched Taylor well in the jamboree earlier this year. That same Eastern squad ( I assume they were full strength) loss to North Harding by over 20. North Hardin is middle of the pack state wide.

That shouldn't have made a difference. Adair is nowhere near a top team in the Region. TC has problems in regards to making a state title run. A good team is made up of more than just good players. There has to be good role players to compliment each other. Their supporting cast has caught up to them. Brandon Berry gave them a mulligan last year

This is why when the preseason predictions came out; I said that TC wouldn't run away with the region title. Still a long ways to go and they still could win the region. But they're not dominant this year. The drop off from Sloan and Q to the next three players in the line up is enormous. They have no inside presence to speak of. That's why North Hardin and John Hardin and Btown will give them fits down the stretch.

I think you are correct sir. Matt's a very good scorer; but shot selection and attempts need to be addressed.

Ha ha ha; I don't think so. Pearson had 18; Guillory had 16 or so. NES got some bad info from the scorekeeper. He may have attempted about 35 shots though. If McCurry don't get a handle on that kids shot selection and attempts; it's gonna be a long season for JH

That's surprising. I've seen North twice this year; and they're didn't look that good. Maybe it says alot about Eastern. Aside from Jackson, North is average looking at best. IMO

Pearson- 17 pts 7 rebs Miller-13 pts 8 asst Guillory- 11 pts 4 asst First game with the entire group. Had an 18 point lead until Monroe roared back down the stretch. Lots of work ahead for JH, still very athletic. Should be able to get it together

Not saying they couldn't beat JH by 20, don't think they can BTW. But JH just got it's football players back on that day. Plus Tyler and Jared played significant minutes well through the 4th quarter, as did Matt Miller (puzzling to me). I think both teams should be excited about the upcoming season though

Yeah both looked pretty good last night. But this is on par like last year for JH. Matt is still taking too many shots. It's just not good for chemistry with the team. There will be many games when his FG% won't be as high. Coach has to get a handle on this issue. Seems like the kid is auditioning every night to prove himself and nobody says anything to correct it. JH actually has some decent talent this year, I'm just disappointed that they play exactly like they did last year

I'm gonna see Bullitt East up close and personal tonight as they scrimmage John Hardin. I'll reserve my opinions until then. List looks pretty good to me. Just curious was North Hardin close to cracking this list?

Big kid from Texas; still playing football though. As is the case with most of the depth of the team. Another guard great defender moved in also. One big transfered in late last year and played some this summer. If they can get some physical play from either of those two, the team is pretty well stocked with athletes. Witherspoon's loss won't be as significant as most think. He only started the last 5 games of the season last year. Should be interesting for JH, with a few breaks they could easily provide stiff competition for the region

I agree; should be a very interesting year. Witherspoon is an addition by subtraction. Not because of the quality of the kid....(he could be the most misunderstood kid in the program), but because he doesn't have a true position. Because he was so athletic, he had to be on the court. But with him gone, this will force McCurry to get Pearson out of the paint and show his perimeter skills. Kid is primed for a huge season. He looks every bit of the part. They have some interesting transfers.....stay tuned

Why this love affair with Fern Creek; don't get it. Young talent no real accomplishments team wise.

Matt is a great kid and player; he'll be fine this year. Last year he pressed a little due to the youth on the team. They started two freshman two sophomores and one Junior. He had some issues with his grades last season also. He IS in the top 5 in the region and easily could play better than Jackson or Sloan this year. Pearson and Guillory are legit, as most people around the AAU circuit already know. John Hardin will push North and Taylor this season. They'll start slow due to the football team but midseason it'll pick up. Very high ceiling for this team; with not alot of hype surrounding them. That's a recipe for a pretty good season
