Don't know if either team looked like region champs though. Looks like the 5th region is wide open this year

JH had its chances to win this one. Not only is the Region wide open, the 17th District is wide open IMO with JH, NH, and CH all capable of winning it. I think JH gets it done when they play NH again.

I think the best team won. NH had big lead in first and let JH back in the game and then Cofer out coached McCurry in the final quarter to get the win

North had an 8-0 lead; that's not huge at the beginning of a game. JH makes their free throws and it's a different game. Two good teams in the district that have a chance for the region championship. To suggest North is a better team can be easily argued. They were however the better team that night; and on that night that's all that mattered.

I see you didn't argue the coaching point I made. And I see North has continued to win since that game and John was on a losing streak until finally winning one game. I think you have said that John needs to get more production from others beside Miller. Guillory and Pearson add some but I think they need it from others. John doesn't match up well with North in a man to man defense.

Pearson had 17 points and 11 rebounds. Guillory played ok. There was no answer for Pearson on the inside...He got two cheap fouls late and then Miller shot them out of the game. As for coaching; North got bailed out by Will Alexander. Jackson was silent in the second half. No coaching necessary for that (Good job by Alexander). John lost to Warren Central and Christ Presbyterian out of TN. North would have lost also to both of those teams. John matches up just fine with North. It was a close game and North won. They are a good team; but JH will be fine

How many points scored in 4th by John? Guess that didn't have anything to do with the change in defense? And after running 45 seconds off the clock and down by 6-7 a time out was finally called. Keep believing in your dogs and time will tell which is better team.

Didn't score in the final 4:18 of the game. Led 48-44-- nothing down the stretch.

Pearson got some cheap foul calls down the stretch; don't get me started on the charge call that Will took. North does play a very good 1-3-1 defense with Tony at the top. If outcoaching means that McCurry won't stop Miller from jacking up shot after shot; then I guess he was outcoached by Cofer. It was a one to two possession game down the stretch by two good teams....don't know why you keep calling this some blowout win by North (on their home court) BTW

Not sure where I said it was a blow out win.. I said better team won the game and that McCurry was outcoached on that night. I think John is a very good ball club.

 

Agree that the charge call was not a good one at all.. And I can say there was a charge call against North that wasn't good either which took away a made basket and a free throw. And that call lead to the T being called on Cofer
