JDEaston Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 This is certainly the game of the week in 5A and quite possibly the state. Both teams took care of business in week 0, Bowling Green beating 4A #4 John Hardin 48-22 in a game that wasn't as close as the score appears, John Hardin tacked on a couple of late scores as the Purples were resting starters. Christian County handled a solid Caldwell County team 50-34. This game will be a huge test for Christian County and qb Kolbe Langhi as the Purples defense look try and slow down the Colonels passing game. Langhi completed over 50% of his passes vs Caldwell County and tallied up 354 yards and 3 touchdowns. It's going to be hard to slow down the Purples offense, as Jamale Carrothers tallied 4 touchdowns himself last week, so the Colonels offense is going to have to be impressive once again to pull off the upset. What do you think?
Adopted Purple Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I don't think it will be like the blowout last year, but do see the Purples winning by 3 touchdowns.
DragonFire Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I don't think it will be like the blowout last year, but do see the Purples winning by 3 touchdowns. Running clock IMO. Bowling Green seriously can't be touched in that class.
Purple Nation Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Sorry boys. Running clock for Purples in 9 regular season games.
charlesw88 Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Bowling Green sends another message to 5A, and the state, winning BIG!
macdon Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Watched Christian and Caldwell. I do not think Christian County can stay close to BG for very long. It may or may not be a running clock but the game will never be in doubt.
Adopted Purple Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Running clock IMO. Bowling Green seriously can't be touched in that class. I hope you're right. I don't like to give the other teams fodder for their bulletin board. I don't think they will have a running clock in nine games this season, like one of my purple brothers suggested. This could be one of the best purples team ever, but it's still early in the season. I do have to admit that you are one of the best at scouting talent. We have played a lot of BG vs WC games and you're usually spot on.
hrcarrier Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 The Purples will win big IMO, good luck to both teams.
FootballBobcat Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Want to see how the BG defense does vs the speed of CC's offense. The passing attack for CC has a good QB and some speedy receivers. Think BG will win but by how much?
Adopted Purple Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Want to see how the BG defense does vs the speed of CC's offense. The passing attack for CC has a good QB and some speedy receivers. Think BG will win but by how much? I was thinking along those lines earlier, but Caldwell County scored 34 on them and I'm pretty sure the Purples defense much better than Caldwell County. Anybody know how many of Christian County's players play both ways? I don't think it will be close.
Hardin County Preps Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I think I will be saying this a lot this season except for maybe the ST X game but, running clock Bowling Green 49-14.
ThatBGPurple Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I believe we'll see another running clock. Wondering how Ziyon Kenner will do in his first game against his old school. Kid had my jaw drop with his speed on that opening kickoff last week. Also think that Carrothers will have 3 TD's and won't play much in the 2nd half again. After last week I'm very excited for the rest of the season!! BG 52 CC 14
