RC, kids go to camps and open gyms of multiple high schools all the time. Kennedy Baugh decided to go to school at NDA and the SK staff is still close to her and her parents. There is no animosity what so ever. We just tell our kids that they are always welcome at SK, that the path to state finals is a lot easier through region 8, and that just because we love you, does not mean we will not beat you!

Well, maybe The Lady Pioneers are coming together sooner than expected. By far the best of three games played. Harmeyer had her first big impact game and Niece got rolling in the second half. Game was tied at the half and SK was up by one after 3 and pulled away in the 4th quarter. Starters for both teams had heavy minutes. Good Luck to The Lady Indians the rest of the year!

I believe SK will need a few games to figure things out. Meier has yet to emotionally put her injuries behind her and some returning players who should be grasping the offence (almost unchanged since last year) are not. This team is still young with only one senior. This bunch is taking a while to transition from aau ball.

AAU != High School Competition. Not nearly the same level of intensity. We shall see.

Has the concept of the outlet pass disappeared from the Girls game? Every rebound by SK and the ball is on the floor. They don't look up until they are 1/4 way down the court.

Ryle will still be catching their breath from playing SK. That plus 3 games in 5 days. Expect a weary Ryle squad. I expect Mason County to win comfortably.

Congrats Lady Raiders! Ryle executed the last 2 minutes and SK did not. Ryle made free throws, SK did not. Ball game! Meier is going to need a few games to get over the anxiety issues associated with injury recovery. She was tentative for 3 quarters. Decision making by some of SK's experienced players was not very good. Ryle's bigs are more mobile than last year. Ryle is still vulnerable to pressure. Plenty to work in practice today for SK!

Do you understand now? Mason just beat Highlands 67-50 at Highlands. I guess now we know, why! Kenton County School Board has this mundane after school activity policy that does not allow after school activities if school was canceled. So, a week of no school, means a week of no practice. That is when HHS caught SK last year. Same thing happened the year before with NCC. The current super is simply not a supporter of athletics. I for one will not miss her when her contract is up. Not saying HHS would not win again, but certainly not by 22. I also believe the home team has been pretty consistent in winning this game.

Most teams don't complain about physicality until one of their kids gets hurt. Then they whine like infants! Ask triples about that one!

Way off base. These two are not even in the same region. No bad blood what so ever. SK just had bad experiences with 10 th region officials last year at Campbell and at Scott. This experience merely reinforced perceptions of the other two. SK has no problem with physical play WITHIN THE RULES.

No Not implying throwing an elbow is positive at all . If the ref’s do not do a collective good job of "Control" it is up to the players to defend themselves. Now I am NOT condoning throwing elbows or pushing or anything else play within the rules!!. The reference to "enforcer" is the same as referencing a player as a "Banger" no one wants to mix it up with them. They know it is going to be physical contact. Nothing more nothing less.

The top 3 teams at the beginning of the year and the top 3 at the end of the year could be a very different list.

Sorry, I don't have a score to report. Brossart was the aggressor in this scrimmage and SK just kept taking the punches. My favorite officials from the 10th region allowed a lot of contact and SK finally started throwing some elbows. Finally, Brossart rode Niece along the sideline without a call one time too many and Coach Stowers pulled his team from the court. After a lengthy discussion with the officials, play continued. SK was the aggressor and was dominant from that point. SK does not appear to have someone in the "enforcer" role that Bosse held last year. It will be interesting to see how they respond to physical play next time.

I believe you would have to get a release from the school. The LOI is binding.

Let's talk in two weeks after some games have been played.

I think in this case, home field advantage cannot be underestimated. SK brings a passionate, vocal following, especially to its home games. Every playoff game I've ever attended in Fayette or Scott County you could hear crickets DURING THE GAME. I don't think The Generals have much experience playing in a hostile environment and it could make them crack!

Mr. Ball is entitled to his opinion. With The Generals collection of D1 commits, they probably be favored. Playing at home, in front of passionate support, I like the Pioneers chances.

This game was made interesting by the pregame field hydration treatment! I walked this field after the game and it was an absolute mud pit. I nearly lost my balance just walking! No way was there enough rain this week for this field to be that unplayable! SK had to relocate a soccer playoff game because the field did not meet KHSAA specifications. No way should this, or any playoff game, should be allowed on such a field. This game should have been moved to Ryle. After all, they have no use for football stadium this time of year!
