Well, maybe The Lady Pioneers are coming together sooner than expected. By far the best of three games played. Harmeyer had her first big impact game and Niece got rolling in the second half. Game was tied at the half and SK was up by one after 3 and pulled away in the 4th quarter. Starters for both teams had heavy minutes.

Good Luck to The Lady Indians the rest of the year!

Sounds like a great game and HC just let it sneak away at the end.

I really see this happening a lot this year. All the NKy teams just beating up on each other. A lot of talent up here.

Nice win lady Pioneers!

No, they were beaten, nothing just snuck away, except HC's win streak. Was a very fun game to watch.

I didn't mean "let the win" sneak away. I just meant it sounded like a close game til SK widened the gap at the end.

Does anyone have a good recap of the game?

This was a very fun game to watch as mentioned. Holy Cross went up early and got to a 10 point lead. The Lady Pioneers battled back and tied it at half with a 3 at the buzzer. Then after some adjustments made at half by Coach Stowers SK never looked back they went rolling after a 12 point lead at one point it almost looked liked SK had it. But the Lady Indians never gave up everything was through McClendon for them letting her drive and if that wasn't their they had Gabbard on the inside to help. Both McClendon and Gabbard had 16 points for HC.

As for SK Niece went rolling in the 2nd half and finished strong for SK Ally finished with 27 points and 7 assists. With 13 of 14 from the line.

Harmeyer is coming through for SK and is looking really good she finished with I believe a career high of 17 points she also had 8 rebounds. And went 5 of 5 from the line and if I'm not mistaken she played the entire game not bad for 32 minutes on the hardwood.

Things that surprises me is Meier for SK, she is coming out slow and isn't being a force down in the post I just hope this is the beginning of the season jitters for her.

The game was pretty evenly officiated too there were some questionable calls on both ends but it did not decide the game at all.

This was a great game to watch and SK gets a win over the State Champs.

Should be a good season for NKY Basketball and like RCC9 says this is going to be fun to watch up here.

It was a very entertaining night for basketball for all 3 games. JV game, SK was up by about 10pts and let it slip and HC came out with a 2 pt win. Stamper(8th grade) had an amazing game and led scoring for SK with 21 pts. Freshman game, a bit tighter for most of the game and HC came out on top for a 2 pt win. Sergent (7th grade) led scoring with 17 points for SK.

Very accurate account of the game. Just a thing or 2 to add; Harmeyer's career high is 30 pts. The thing a lot of people in NKY don't know is that she is in her 3rd yr as a varsity starter and only a sophomore. While at Grant County she lead the team in virtually every offensive catagory, and also in rebounding. She was in the top 15 in the 8th region in rebounding last season, and among the top in free throw percentage. She was also All District Tournament team last season. She also was listed as a the 3rd or 4th leading scorer in the freshman group according to the GNBA website this past summer.

hahaha.. Nothing snuck away and HC was just beaten huh? SK Had a total of 30 free throws... ?! I need not say more. Also HC's best defensive player (Beal) received 2 fouls 3 minutes into the first half and sat until after half. Then was in and out the fourth for same reason (referencing the comment that all starters played heavy minutes) and, She only scored in the third since HC was not allowed to play without a call, making her and Tucker sit some or most the fourth as well. So as far as there not being enough questionable calls to make a difference, as lace up said, well I'd disagree with that one, with 30 Trips to the line for one team. LOL.

Also, the plays going through two people was not the play or the plan..Lol. One should never think we only have two scorers. Lol.

But I do agree it was a great game!! Everyone played well and it was really good to play a team that knew what they were doing and DIDNT try to injure the other team to make up for lack of talent. Great job!!

Good luck to SK on their journey the rest of the year!!

30 ? Welcome to playing at SK. That allows those refs to not get scratched

Lol. Is that what it was? In the end, It was still a fun game! I believe all fans loved seeing their teams play so competitively this early in the season!!

What are you talking about? Holy Cross shot just about the same amount of free throws as SK this game was not about officiating. Niece and McClendon battled back and forth the entire game. The officials call it both was on drive taking the ball from each player. I might agree that one foul was a little sketchy. Plus 3 of SK starters had could trouble also Buckner fouled out. Meier had 4. The only thing that was different was that HC had to foul at the end to stop the clock so the officials did their job and did preventive officiating and called the touch fouls at the end so that the fouls didn't get out of hand by that I mean so that none of the Girls got hurt.

So like I said officiating did not decide this game. SK was the better team this game and you can't take that away from them. Take the loss move on to the next team. Games in December doesn't decide your season.

The the stat of FTs...HC 16/23, SK 23/29
