  1. I'm confused. I thought it was Hedger that was at AP and Johnson was at EMU.Somebody help me please. Thanks!
  2. Congratulations Whitney! I know everybody has penciled in Boley as POY, but every bucket this kid scores is against double, triple and even quadruple teaming. To score the ball at 50 points a game under those circumstances is incredible. I have to wonder if it was Creech who played for a Louisville team , and Boley who played for a mountain team would the Miss Basketball mentality be different? Feathers>
  3. Man, you put out rankings on this board, you better do your home work!
  4. Ball movement has been much better lately. Meier has been scoring consistently now, both in the post and in transition. This is allowing Neace to relax and not feel like she has to carry the team. Double teaming Neace is forcing additional ball movement. Still waiting for Harmayer to get going though. Through the first 15 games, I felt like Neace had to score 25 for SK to win. The team has matured to the point where this is no longer the case.
  5. I like it! Strange to see E-Town at 2, but Butler deserves the top spot!!
  6. Anytime you take a bus load of HS girls for a ride exceeding an hour, during a school week, the potential for coming out flat is large. MC body of work merits a top 10 ranking. The Campbell County loss is an anomaly and weighed way to heavily. BTW, based upon LIT results, there is some argument for changes at the top.
  7. If you double team Neace, Meier is going to make you pay! I'm just waiting for Harmayer's shots to start falling, then any attempts to Neace away through double team will be futile! You can tell Harmayer has the stroke, but she has not settled back in since the injury layoff.
  8. According to the Maher folks they are. Maher Rankings | Kentucky Girls Basketball Rankings 1/24/16rankings Kentucky | , Kentucky | rankings, Kentucky
  9. HC successfully disrupted SK on offence by double teaming Neace on every possession. SK adjusted by running the high/low into Meier who had a big game. This was a nail biter until HC was forced to foul with a minute left. Both sides took issue with the officiating in this one with fans from both sides getting out of their seats and taking steps towards the court.
  10. Sounds like MC just had dead legs. Happens to most programs once or twice during the season.
  11. I thought the movement of the ball and of bodies looked a lot better in this game than any I attended previously. SK broke Conner's press with ease and Meier made them pay. I thought Conner would be more competitive. I think Harmayer getting 2 fouls early got her out of sync.
  12. Recruiting services and most 3rd party camps and combines are a waste of time and money. The most important aspect of the recruiting process is honest acceptance of the athletes skill level by both athlete and parent. If you attend about 5 D1 camps, and you are not being separated from the pack for individual discussion, you need to start looking at lower levels of football. A lot of people, even here on BGP, have romanticized perceptions of being a D1 athlete. Those perceptions don't mean squat if you are sitting on the sidelines for four years and not getting full financial support.
  13. This was a fund raiser for Special Needs Education at SK in memory of Brittany Depew who was a student at SK who passed in 2012. Very strong turnout by the community for this event. Makes me proud to be a Pioneer!
  14. Some SK opponents will run with SK, others will hold the ball for 3 minutes on every possession. Depends on personnel, match ups and strategy.
  15. I'm not saying anything regarding whether MC merited this win or the previous one. My only point is preparation for tournaments is the ultimate goal and playing tough teams on the road, or, neutral courts is better preparation. More exposure to hostile environments and officiating unfamiliar with your squad.
  16. Has Mason County played all their tough games at home? If so, not going to get those friendly 10th region officials and home cooking at the state tournament! A tough loss on the road probably prepares you better for tournament time.
  17. There is another one from Campbell (First Name Logan I believe) that I am aware of, but I don't know of any more from NKy.
  18. Congratulations Dillion! That makes 3 in the GLIAC for SK.
  19. Are you implying there were missed chippies , or missed contested shots?
  20. Looking at the box score, too much of the scoring burden is on Niece. Meier and Buckner in single digits is, IMO, not going to get it done vs quality competition. Guards need to feed the post, and the post players need to concentrate and finish. SK used to run a lot of high low with Tomlin and Cox. They don't seem to do that with Buckner and Meier. I wish they would bring that offensive set out of the closet! To address lack of focus at the start of the game, I propose a full contact layup drill with pads in pre game! Coach Stowers, Are you reading?
  21. I thought the deciding moments of the game were actually the FIRST 3 minutes, not the last. SK came off the bus sluggish and unfocused. By radio, I counted 4 out 6 possessions were unforced turnovers to start the game which MC capitalized to build a 10 pt lead. If SK plays those first 3 minutes even, I believe we have a different result. I believe SK needs to do something different with their pre-game routine because these start of game mental lapses occur frequently.
