It's kind of funny that in the past when St. X ran the ball well and played good defense, it was never good enough.

Good points discussed thus far. One other thing to consider, and maybe it should be a separate thread, is the price of some high school games. Jefferson Co. schools is charging $10 per game this year. I think that is a bit pricey. What are entry fees in other areas?

I actually think they should have kept feeding their RB. St. X never really stopped him consistently. Male seems so dependent on the explosive play that they tend to get impatient. As an X fan, though, I thought it was helpful to X every time them handed the ball off. Every handoff for Male was one more time they did not throw it up to their explosive receivers.

He has done a fine job. It is way more difficult to win a title at St. X than it was at BG. I would say he is in the Top 10. But the GOAT, not so sure about that. So far, he is probably the third best coach at his current school.

What tweaks did South Oldham make to their offense at mid-season?

Kudos to the Tiger defense. They did a good job vs. the Manual passing game. I was surprised to see Manual abandon the downhill running game in the first half. I don’t think they featured their running back enough.

Trinity showed great resiliency in the 3rd quarter. St. X showed great resiliency in the 4th quarter.

No excuse to throw high school players under the bus like that. Subscribe to the philosophy of “when you win, say little. When you lose, say less.”

Smart phone and social media to start. I'm sure glad that everyone walking around when I was in high school was not carrying a video camera and posting all of the stupid stuff I did. If so, I would be lucky to get a job as a dog catcher.

While I do not think that players are the same as they were years ago, high school kids have way more things to deal with in their lives than did players of yesteryear.

I guess my main question is, Why weren't these things discussed in an interview? Shouldn't both parties in an interview try to figure out if a particular job would be a good fit? If not, don't take the job or hire the candidate.

I don't think it says too much by them beating a 6A team. It is not a good 6A team. But, hey, a win is a win.

It was a pretty good offensive showing for St. X considering that their starters had no scrimmages. Not many penalties, not too much sloppy play. Not so much for the defense. Regardless of the injuries, it was not good for a team to be able to run the ball like that against X. I thought the difference in the game was the success of the St. X special teams and the poor punt team of Owensboro. The offenses of both teams moved the ball pretty much at will, and the defenses of both teams did very little.

In this series, it has typically been a close game at Central and fairly lopsided when played at St. X.

"If Micah can be disruptive it will be a good night for the Tigers' defense. Owensboro has some good OTs, so he has to be able to mix up his moves to keep the offensive guys guessing." Micah needs to be able to stay on the field consistently to make the impact he needs to make. He has made plenty of spectacular plays; he needs his availably to equal his ability. If so, he can be a major factor for the Tiger defense.

If this is true, I really feel badly for the players in the Desales program. The timing is really bad.
