Central (0-1) hosts St. Xavier (1-0) after losing to Manual 14-12. St. Xavier is coming off a shoot out 51-38 win over Owensboro.

St. X is led by QB Jack Sivori who rushed for 186 yards and had 6 touchdowns (3 rushing/ 3 passing) with WR Michael Duddy catching all 3 touchdowns on 3 receptions in the Owensboro game. 

St. X defense was led by S Tyler Boggs with 8 tackles. The defense suffered two big injuries with both defensive ends ( Micah Carter & Teddy Meiers) being injured with their status most likely out for this game.

Central started out with a bang against Manual by running the opening kickoff back for a touchdown. Manual fumbled on next possession, and Central took advantage of the turnover with QB Vernon Duncan scoring their lone offensive touchdown. Central held a 12-0 lead at halftime but Manual went on two score twice sealing the win.

Key questions in this game. Can Central stop or slow the St.X offense enough to win? Can the injury riddled St. X defense stop the Central rushing attack? Who wins?

I think St. X will win this one but it may not be easy. Offense if all things remain equal will be ok, but defensively there are just a number of players injured/banged up right now. I don't think Central will score many points but I can see them controlling the ball and playing keep away from the St. X offense. These games are typically are fought and end up a bit closer than expected. I don't think this will be much different.

St. X freshman play Central Thursday at 5:30 at St. X. 
 

1st games of the season for JV & freshman.

The freshman and JV scrimmaged each other Saturday morning over on baseball field because of soccer games. Was informal but I saw JV score 4 times and freshman scored 3 times. I was impressed with the freshman offense. They had good RB who was fast and shifty. I look forward to seeing them Thursday in a real game.

Word on the streets that Central has a very talented group of Freshman.

It will be interesting to see the outcomes of these Frosh/JV games

I've heard that so looking forward to game.

I don’t think Central will score much but will try to slowdown game.  I expect X to be methodical.
