Central has had and always will have a talented team.  That being said, I'm not sure they will be able to maintain what they had a few years ago.  I don't know Coach Dantzler but Central seems to be doing less with the same talent they had a few years ago.  I mean they are still winning a lot of games but they win the games they should and that's about it.  I don't know maybe I'm wrong.  They just seem to be sliding a bit.  Defense is tough, but man I don't like that offense.  But I don't remember Coach Dantzler asking my opinion about it either.

Like most games early, depth will play a vital role. Both teams just finished games against top competition, and St. X by structure has more depth than most teams they play against. It will be interesting to see how Central is able to hold up in the second half. I can see the first half being close all things being equal with a slight advantage to St. X because of their offense. The second will determine if the score is like the '19, '18, and '15 meetings or will Central be worn out and the score ends up like the '16 and '17 meetings. 

 

In this series, it has typically been a close game at Central and fairly lopsided when played at St. X.

In 1951, St. Xavier and Louisville Central scheduled and played the first integrated high school game in the state. It took place a full 5 years before Kentucky integrated its schools. The game ended in a 7-7 tie.

There's a lot of good history between these two schools. 

Any news on the injured DE Micah Carter?  He was so impressive early vs Owensboro.  Sure hope he isn't out for long.  Terrific player.

Haven't heard but I hope he's able to make it back this season. He missed a lot last year due to injury. Defense is very good when Panariello, Carter, and Meiers are in there. All 3 are juniors. Hopefully at least 2 of them are back by playoffs.
