St. X's defensive line and OLB's are good, but the offensive line for the Tigers is one of the least talented in recent memory.

Nice win for the Tigers. This was their best game so far. The offense was productive both run and pass. I was glad to see them grind out some yards on the ground in the 4th quarter.

Kicking and punting are definitely weapons for the Tigers this year. Overall special teams units are strong with the exception of fielding punts.

Also, to your point, most of the playmakers are at WR, not RB.

It doesn’t seem to be a point of emphasis. Also, offensive line is below average and running back is not a game breaker. He is a good player with average speed and below average size.

St. X struggled in the run game offensively. This will continue to be a problem against good teams I’d they cannot get it rectified. Also, the Tigers dropped 2 punts which were recovered by Central.

The game this year is played at Central. Historically, when the game is played at St. X, it is usually a comfortable win for the Tigers. When the game is played at Central, it is typically a very competitive contest. I think special teams will be a big factor in this game. Central must be able to get a good snap and protect their punter. If not, it could be a long night for the Yellowjackets. If so, I think it will be a close game.

As of now, yes. I just don’t think St. X can overcome its deficiencies in the defensive secondary to be competitive with legitimate passing attacks such as those of Trinity and Male.

Let’s just call this game what it was: a total butt whipping in every phase including coaching. However, the good part about playing a quality non district opponent at this point of the season is that it can point out what needs to be improved. For example, in 2005 St. X throttled Trinity in the regular season in a game similar to the St. X - Male game this year. In that game, the score did not accurately reflect the abilities of both teams. Trinity improved that year and won a close game in the playoffs. I would guess that the St. X - Male game this year did not either. The key is how will the 2 teams react going forward. Will Male get complacent, or will they keep improving? Will St. X lose confidence and let a tough loss linger, or will they keep improving? Time will tell for both teams.

The major deficiencies of X are defensive back and lack of a tough offensive line/running game. These weaknesses showed in this game.

I think Manual’s defense will keep them in the game. However, I think it will take 24+ points to win, and I am not sure Manual can come up with that many.

Should be a good game. Probably within a touchdown either way. I am slightly leaning towards St. X due to the fact that I am not sure Male has the QB to exploit St. X’s primary weakness: secondary. Fortunately for the Tigers, neither have their first 2 opponents. The front 7 is outstanding, but the defensive backfield is still unproven against a legitimate passing attack.

It is a shame for the players on the team that the powers that be allowed this to happen over an extended period of time. This could not have been a sudden happening.

The timing of the would-be move is very poor by this young man. It would really put his coaches and team mates in a bind. This is something that should have been done in the summer. Otherwise, stick it out and be with your team.

This schedule does not seem like a recipe for success.
