#4 Manual (5-1) will host #2 St. Xavier (5-1) after having an open week. St. X comes in after defeating #6 Ryle 13-3.

Last year St. X defeated Manual 10-6 on a last second hail mary pass in the 6A playoffs.

Both teams have the common opponent of Central with St. X defeating Central 30-6 and Manual defeating Central 14-12.

Against Ryle St. X rushed for 160 yards with RB Justin Walsh leading with 90 yards. QB Jack Sivori chipped in 54 yards and a touchdown. WR/QB Adam Boone rushed for the only other touchdown. WR Mekhi Smith had some key catches for 1st downs.

The St. X defense held Ryle to 67 yards rushing and didn't give up a touchdown. All the injured defensive starters have returned except DE Micah Carter.

The Manual offense has been led by QB Darien Wilson with 531 yards passing and 432 yards rushing with 7 touchdowns passing and 4 touchdowns rushing. Mr. Football candidate RB JuWuan Northington has 514 yards and 6 touchdowns in only 4 games because he missed 2 games due to injury.

The Manual defense has held opponents to a average of 48 yards rushing and 115 yards passing while yielding just 11 points a game.

This is the game of the week in 6A. The winner cements themselves at the top of the district and has future playoff implications due to the RPI. This looks like a low scoring game due to both having stout run defenses and both having clock absorbing rushing offenses. Which team wins this district battle?

Should be a physical, low scoring game. The story will be can St. X run the football against Manual's tough defense? If they can continue their trend, they should be in good shape. I'll take the Tigers 17-7.

I saw in the preview all the injured DL for St. X have returned expect Micah Carter, does that include Le'Andre Maxwell?

Not Maxwell so didn't count him since were unsure if he would play before season started.

Massey Ratings has a score prediction of 27-20 in favor of St. X.

Calpreps has the score prediction of 28-21 in favor of St. X.

I don't see scoring being that high but I think margin ok. I'm going with St. X by 7.

I don't either. If the score's this high I think St. X will be in good shape.

To be honest, I picked Manual because my daughter goes there.

I think St X is the better team, but I thought that the last time they played and it took touchdown Jesus to save the Xavarians that night.

For Manual to win, I think they need to keep the game in the teens on the scoreboard.

Then again, I NEVER thought Manual would score 24 points against LaSalle.

Will be a great game I think.  Planning on attending!

While La Salle is still a good team, they are now 4-3. Last game lost to Moeller 28-14. Elder who St. X beat just beat Moeller in OT. La Salle not as good as we thought earlier in season. Using Calpreps, St. X would be the #6 team in Ohio. La Salle #12 in Ohio. I think Manual is almost as good as La Salle so I think St. X wins a close one.
