Need to get healthy! I think this will be a one score game heading into Q4. X D line needs big night as Manual will come right down hill. Can X show a mid range passing game to open the run? Tired of the long ball or screens that haven’t really worked. TE over middle or hitch routes would be refreshing. Duddy was given 10 yard cushion on Friday! Just stand up and throw it to him he’ll gain 6 to 8 yards!

Wouldn't be surprised to see St. X do more RPO stuff. Especially with the running threat Sivori is, having RPO/play action passes against an aggressive defense could see the passing game explode this week. 

I think the Tigers simply because they are getting close to full strength and it will show. Have to show a lot of respect for the Northington kid.

Yeah, I think there a few guys banged up this week. But, it's the way it goes. They've been working through injuries all season, especially on defense, so they have plenty of guys with a lot of quality varsity reps. 

I'm sure a point of emphasis for the St. X secondary is to play run support when assignment calls for them too, but to make sure they don't allow a "cheap" big play in the passing game for Manual because they get their eyes caught looking at Northington in the backfiled. I think St. X will be able to control Manual's running game, obviously Northington will get some good runs because he's a good running back, but I don't think Manual will be able to beat St. X unless they can be productive in the passing game. Keep everything in front as a secondary player and the St. X defense should be in good shape.

He coached at Butler taking them to semifinals in 3A. Also was nominated for coach of the year back in 2011. He's good coach.

Manual quarterback Darien Wilson is my X-factor for this game. He was of little significance against St. X last year. Northington was basically the entire Crimsons offense that night. But this year, Wilson has blossomed into a consistent threat in the running game to compliment Northington. He's a good looking athlete in the open field and throws a nice ball, usually off a bootleg. Reardon gives him an athletic target to throw to. Manual is definitely a run first team and probably run second, as well, but when they do put the ball in the air, big plays tend to happen.

I'll echo what @LongTimeReadertouched on earlier... When you've got two teams that want to go mano a mano, most of what happens will occur within 6-8 yards of the line of scrimmage. It's easy to get drawn in tight to where most of the action is taking place. That's when you get bit by something over the top. Manual has the personnel to make that happen.

Ahhh, the old team comparator.  LaSalle beat Trinity by 21 and St. X only beat Trinity by 7 so LaSalle would beat St. X by 14 and Manual only lost to LaSalle by 4 so Manual is 10 pts. better than St. X ?.  All joking aside, I think this is without a doubt the best game in the Louisville area and probably the best game in the state this week.  I think a full strength St. X is probably a touchdown or two better than Manual, but I'm not sure St. X comes into this one full strength.  I think this comes down to how well Manual's offense can run the ball against St. X.  If they can and they play ball control offense, I think they beat St. X by a touchdown.  If not and St. X controls the line of scrimmage on defense, I think St. X wins by 7-10 pts..  I think Manual will be able to run the ball so I picked Manual.  We shall see.  Either way, a great game to watch for those in attendance.

St. X offense is better this year than last year and looking at what teams have scored on Manual and St. X defense mostly healthy, so I'll go with St. X 21-14.
