In no way did he imply that Mayfield would be the state champions. He simply gave a civil post with his reasons Mayfield should be the preseason #1 (as was brought up earlier in this thread). His points are hard to argue against in my opinion.

The Burg's d-line was as good as I've seen..........kept our OL from getting to the LB's the whole game. I can definitely see how they hadn't lost a game going into this one. Talking about changing the offense up, I'm sure BW fans aren't familiar with Graves Co. at all, but they decided to go to the spread offense before last season. Most local fans (myself included) thought they would not be able to run it successfully. Maybe we thought they didn't have the athletes needed to be productive with that scheme, idk. But look where they are now, only 2 years into this change. It may not have anything to do with their success, but it is a pretty dramatic change for their program. I think BW could do very well with a more open offense. This does not mean you have to have a 60-40 run pass ratio, the running game would still be a huge part of the offense. Just think how good those backs could be with the defense spread out, and going one on one with a LB or DB. I know we are not the coaches for a reason, but I would love to have the OC job at BW!

I'm guessing that Hall is QB. That's a game changer when QB is out. How physical are the linebackers and secondary? That is where Crider can do some damage on his runs. Commander, he was a starter. He would have been a really good player for us this year. He probably brings a little more swagger to an already hard nosed team.

I'm not saying this is a big factor, but this will be the 4th straight state championship game Graves QB has played in. He played in 3 for Mayfield before transferring. So he definitely has big game experience. Crider is a load at RB, and a force on the other side of the ball. I would like to know what Pulaski returned from last season if somebody could fill me in. Hopefully this will be a great game. I think Graves will be as physical as any team Pulaski has faced this year. Can't wait to see what happens!

Just because I have only been a member for 3 months doesn't mean I haven't been reading these threads for years. But, in those 3 months there have been countless threads with different titles that all end up talking about the same subject. They may not start that way, or be intended to go there.............but usually do. So yes, in the last 3 months the amount of teams in the playoffs has been beaten like a red headed step child!

I would say if you ask most Mayfield fans, QB was what we were most worried about going into this season. Once we all saw he could get the job done, we knew we would be pretty solid.

Congrats to W-burg on the win. Also to Raceland, everything I've read this year seems like it was a better season than expected. Kudos to the players and coaches on that!

Wow! I know nothing about Pulaski County, but I think Graves will definitely make them work for it. Congrats Eagles on another huge win! Can't wait to see Mayfield and Graves play next weekend!
