We have to remember that Tucker has been out since the McCracken game. I really think he is a threat on the outside when he is available. I hope he comes back healthy soon.

Just curious, has Middlesboro been very relevant since they beat us in the championship in 98? They had a tough team that year. I haven't really heard much from them since then.

I see where you're coming from on this...............kinda. One thing you have to remember, we're still working with a young QB who is still learning. I'm sure the game is still pretty fast for him right now. I would say that is the main reason for the predictable offense. It appears that we have a team this year that might play to the level of its opponents (with the exception of the Fultons). Really curious to see what happens in the Russelville game.

I like that everyone is putting Mayfield 1st, but I'm a firm believer that rankings mean nothing. But, since that's the discussion here's mine..... 1. Mayfield 2. Beechwood 3. Pikeville 4. Frankfort 5. Williamsburg

I'm guessing there will be a few go to the county, but I really think PT will still consistently have talent. Some years maybe better than others. That program has just had a few bumps in the road here lately. Maybe if the new coach can have a couple good years they can make some of those kids who might consider the transfer, change their mind. I'll say this though, it's gonna be hard to have really good seasons with the schedule they have played in recent years!

I agree, even though I think our secondary is still a little shaky. The bad thing about that is it won't get any in game work probably until the Caldwell game. The run d is looking very, very good right now.

How does Hughes speed compare with SH's?

Probably the ugliest game I've ever seen. I've always heard refs could throw a flag on every play, but they usually just let some things go. Boy they didn't tonight! I don't know if they were good calls or bad ones, all I know is there were a bunch of em. I will be pretty surprised if crider can make it through the full season with the amount of carries he has. He's a tough kid!

I don't blame him, I wouldn't wanna say that either. Who knows why? I was disappointed when I heard about it though.

I never really considered him much of a college prospect myself. He's a good high school player that decided to go to graves so he could disappear in a passing offense that basically doesn't exist. They might say that's the reason, but most people that are in or around the mayfield program know the story. I hate it though, he would have been a very big part of this young cardinal team! I do wish him luck on the next level if he has the opportunity to do so.

Somebody please tell me they are moving to 3A next year!

What have they returned from last year? I personally wasn't very impressed with any certain aspect of their team at all last year. Maybe they just had a bad game at state, I don't know. I'm seeing lots of praises on here about them this year, so they must be pretty solid.

2011- 35-7 2012- 38-14 2013-28-18 Murray has the style of offense to play most teams close, it's like basketball teams that hold the ball and stay in games that they shouldn't. Look what they did to Caldwell last year. I do like the new twists they have put on the old school offense though. Kinda looks like a hybrid shotgun wing t. It's weird seeing the o-line with zero splits to me.

Tough night for the cards, with all the stuff going on this week. I'm sure they had a hard time focusing on this game tonight after losing a classmate today. Still showed lots of grit to comeback and get another win. I don't think Murray will go down easily in 2A again this year, they are better than I was expecting. I think that may have been the fastest game I have ever seen. I think the first half only took 40 min. to play. Murray definitely executed their game plan on both sides of the ball. Hats off to them! Congrats to the cards for the win, and GO BIG RED!

From a mayfield fans perspective, I remember when I was younger and we were in 2A, watching those big bruising backs from BW. The teams now do look a lot different......................but I'm sure most MF fans would say the same thing. Our RB's this year are a combined 300 lbs soaking wet! Around 10 years ago we were still ground and pound, now our spread offense has opened up the field for these smaller guys to work. I don't know if BW coaching is just not adjusting style of play to personnel or not, but from the teams I have seen come to MF over the past few years, they still have plenty of talent for a 1A program. I know I don't have a dog in this race, but this is just something I see from the outside.
