  1. 1st and goal from the 5 and not getting in on 4 plays tells me different
  2. I've been waiting and thinking about my prediction. I'm going with Mayfield 20-17
  3. Mayfield uses charters on occasion. I remember a playoff trip to Harrodsburg back in the 90's. That was a long ride on a yellow bus. The only good thing was I rode home on the bus with the cheer leaders!
  4. Either way, MF got the rings! I wish I could've played the Tigers back in my day, would've been fun.
  5. I think it's more the team speed that has bothered the Beechies, not necessarily individuals.
  6. We as Mayfield fans would never dismiss any athlete BW puts on the field. You just have to understand that we have heard these same comments every year that our team has played BW. For the most part, we have never seen these superb athletes show up in this game (Nussbaum being the exception I can think of). It's not meant to be a knock on the team at all, BW always has a sound and hard nosed group that we all respect. I would be willing to say that the players always know they played a great team on Sat mornings afterwards. Having said that, this team could be an exception, time will tell. I promise you this........us MF fans will be the first to admit if our guys were out manned in this game. But until that happens, it's hard for us to give these players the credit they very well may deserve. This was not meant to be a bash at all, just my observation. Best of luck to both teams!
  7. I will say this, if BW has over 200 yds passing, they will likely win. If they can't get anything going in the passing game, they will struggle to put points on the board. JMO
  8. I don't think I said they were slow. I just said if they are as fast as anybody on the field, then they are really fast. I don't have a clue how fast they are, because I haven't seen them. I would kinda figure that they are pretty good though.
  9. I personally don't think you can compare them. Kinda like the apples to oranges thing. Trajon is a different style back. Jackson was dangerous with the ball, but he wasn't as electric as Bright is. Also, when you looked at JJ in a uniform, he just looked the part, even when he was an underclassmen. I would say if you didn't know who Bright was, when you see him come on the field you would think he was an average JV player................but boy he's not!
  10. Trajon Bright set 2 school records tonight. Rushing yards in a season and TD's in a season. Congrats to Trajon on those records. The play he out ran #5 down the sideline was impressive. His acceleration is ridiculous! Defense looked pretty stout once again. I think it will be tough to score much on this group. Overall I thought it was a great performance from the big red machine.
  11. I heard some stats on the way home earlier, and think I heard them say Carruthers had 14 carries for 36 yds. That was Graves County radio, so I'm not sure how accurate they were. If this is correct, that's pretty darn good defense.
  12. Congratulations Eagles! This is truly an amazing win for this program. I didn't think they could win, but all the spreads in the prediction thread saying BE would win easily, were not from people who had seen this team play. They are a very solid team that hopefully can bring the 5A trophy home. Good luck, and again, congrats. Go Eagles!
  13. BTW, just looked at the stats filed on KHSAA. Odd to see that Rogers is throwing more with this PT than any of the past teams he had at Warren Central. I'm not sure what kind of qb's he had at WC (I'm sure they were pretty decent players), but Dunnigan is a pretty darn good player. I've been pretty impressed with his play for a couple years now. I'm not saying he is better than anybody he had there, just think it might explain the difference in stats.
  14. I hated playing on that field. It felt like concrete covered by a layer of that outdoor carpet. On top of that, the dirt spots around bases were ridiculous! Even though it was not the best playing field, I will always remember watching and playing there. Oh yeah, the visitor locker room was about as big as my garage.............and pretty trashy.
  15. In 95 BW played and lost to Mayfield. I think the game you're thinking of was maybe 93??????
  16. Wasn't it kind of the thinking at the time for Haskins to coach a few years and then turn it over to the Hedges guy that was at Reidland? I may be way off thinking this, but it seems like that was the "plan" at the time. IMO this would be a job that would attract some big name coaches, even if they are currently at a quality job.
  17. I haven't seen any conversation about this game yet. I don't know much about Bethlehem, it's kinda hard to tell much from results of their games this season. Caverna put more points on the board last week than I thought they would. Could this be a trap game and catch the Cards looking ahead? Just from looking at game results, I'm gonna go with my Cardinals. ....48-7 If anybody has any info on the boys from B-town, fill me in!
  18. Everybody that plays Murray tries to make them pass, it doesn't usually work. They can run successfully against stacked boxes because they're used to it. I would venture to say OC has taken this same strategy into the last few they have lost to them. The only real question is can Murray get some stops of their own.
  19. That's a pretty solid group of 8 teams
  20. I thought last week people were saying the line couldn't block anybody. I guess there has been quick improvements!
  21. I haven't chimed in on these conversations, but my view is when they show up for preseason meetings and physical, they know what they are signing up for. It's usually the same teams every year. I suggest if they don't want to play in those games, maybe they just shouldn't play at all.
  22. This is really the best scenario for SEC fans. As a Bama fan I'm pulling for them, but if you want 2 teams in the playoffs that's the best way to get em.
