If NCC's QB is struggling to complete passes especially downfield, Smith wont have much success. The underneath and short routes haven't been a problem for the MF d this year. It's the downfield throws that have done the damage. I asked the question in the game thread and not really got an answer yet. Does the big QB have the ability to hurt a team running the ball?

How balanced is the NCC offense? Is the big QB very mobile, and a threat to run? Does he have the ability to win games with his arm if the run game is struggling?

This is an amazing run that our program is on right now. It seems like most of these years I have watched these teams early on and said "no way we are a contender this year". They somehow seem to prove me wrong every time. It has been a blast watching and cheering on these teams, and I am very proud to be a Mayfield Cardinal.

I would like to hear from Desalesalum8. He made a few bold statements about Mayfield being welcomed to 2A powerhouse football.

What an effort by both teams tonight! I cant say enough about the poise of this group of Cardinals. They have the refuse to lose mentality. Desales was a very good team, but the gimme pick 6 makes this score look a little better than it could have been. Our guys overcame 3 int's and countless silly penalties, and still put up 24 pts on that heralded defense. Whoever thought we couldn't put up 30 on a dry field might want to rethink that. Congrats to the Colts on a great season, and the run they have had the last few years. You guys have a great thing going with that program, and I look forward to seeing this game more in the future!

Actually, our programs history and what we have accomplished in the past has a lot to do with this game. That is one of the the key ingredients in this programs secret recipe. Kids in this town grow up watching the Cards play, and win games that we probably shouldn't. Year after year after year. By the time kids reach high school they can name all their favorite players from past teams. They dream of the day they can get out there and imitate those players. We also have the expectation of a state championship every year. Anything less is unacceptable. That's just how it is here. So basically I say all this to say, yes our history has way more to do with this game than you might believe. Just an alumni's thoughts.

Thought I might point out that 1A Beechwood beat NCC 30-13 just a few weeks before yall beat them 26-0 last year.

Maybe this will give an idea of the stadium layout to the Desales folks.

After watching the game, I thought Arnett was just as good as Zuberer. They both made some great throws, some good ones, and some bad ones too. I'm a fan of Boarman, he was everywhere tonight. OC has a great team, and shouldn't hang their heads. On to the next private school!

I'm not following what you want to hear from us. But the "mamma" thing might be a Waterboy reference, so I will go with that theme. Something must be wrong with your medulla oblongata if you think having the best athlete on the field means OC wins the game. LOL!
