OB Catholic was a great team that presented a great challenge to the Cardinals.. The score really doesn't tell the story, as it was nip and tuck most of the way and only a 49 yard f/g giving Mayfield a 10 point lead and a little cushion late. Both teams scored late TDs that were really irrelevant.. Defense won this one for the Cardinals,coming up big, time and time again against a potent passing attack and solid RB. Very hard hitting game by both teams and neither wanting to give an inch.

Congrats to Mayfield. An absolute powerhouse of KY High School football. I saw this one going differently but credit the Mayfield players and coaches with preventing Catholic from doing what i saw them do all season long. Good luck to you guys the rest of the way. The back and forth on here has been classy and fun!

 

As for the Aces, man I'm going to miss these seniors. John Mark Boarman is one of my favorite players to watch. Undersized as he is he sure plays the game the way it should be played. Shamri has grown and grown. Michael Mills is a beast. RZIII, well I still get to cover him in most all sports. It's been a fun season. Hats off to you guys!!

I know one time he got it and probably wished he didn't. That was a huge hit on him, saw him doubled over on the sideline after. He came right back after, so tough and fast. Glad he didn't get injured.

Very good OC team that came in tonight. I agree with the above post. Neither team wanted to give up an inch. Thought our defense played very very good tonight holding their QB in check. Mayfield made more plays and that is what it takes in a game like this. Very proud of our boys!! On to the next one.

After watching the game, I thought Arnett was just as good as Zuberer. They both made some great throws, some good ones, and some bad ones too. I'm a fan of Boarman, he was everywhere tonight. OC has a great team, and shouldn't hang their heads. On to the next private school!

Great to be a Cardinal! That was a VERY GOOD team we beat, score doesn't show how close this game was. Hard licks all over the field, mayfield defense was awesome. Congrats to the Aces on a great year, I really like your team, hard nosed football.

*Wouldn't trade our QB for either one that suited up for the opposition the last 2 weeks.

*The name may change , Murray to Mayfield, but the 2A playoff roadblock will continue for OC.

*Two stingy defenses will hit the field next week with a return trip to Bowling Green on the line.
