Whenever I have seen the ball in bounded in front of the CCH student section, the CCH administration is usually doing their best to keep the students a little bit away from the opposing player. But one thing I've noticed, is a lot of the time, the opposing player is doing is best to hide the huge grin on his face.

Cov Cath won this game by double digits on the road last year. But no clue what Winton Woods returns or has.

The four main are Blessed Sacrament, Saint Joes (Cresent Springs), Saint Agnes, and Saint Pius. But a lot of kids come from all over nky. The Boone county catholic schools send a lot to CCH. I'm pretty sure that Saint Pius is the biggest of the four though. But all four have had there fair share of athletes. The 04' team that went to the state semis, I think it was something like four of the five starters were from Saint Agnes. It varies from year to year and from sport to sport where to top players come from. But for basketball I'd say Saint Pius has had to most kids make the team over the past few years. But I could be wrong.

That's what popped in my head when I saw that. When the panthers played the bengals early this year they showed at 500 Kuechlys in the stands. So they could easily be related.

Cov Cath's 3rd win over St. X in the past two season. St. X has top athletes in almost all sports. But can't seem to get it going in basketball.

According to the Cov Cath website, January 15th at NCC. How many freshman are playing JV only for both squads?

Cov Cath is still undefeated with only one game within 10 points. Most games have been wins by 20+. Crushed Cincy McNich today and beat Highlands last night.

Being 19 playing in high school doesn't always mean you were held back twice. If a kid has a April birthday and has to redo kindergarten, if he or she plays a spring sport their senior year of high school then they would be 19 towards the end of the season.

They had Highlands on the big screens when they mentioned local state champs. Not sure if they did anything more than that.

Grant County. I'd be surprised if they win a district game in the next few years with the new alignment.

Really nice schedule. But has LexCath really only played Henry Clay one time? I would figure LexCath would play all the local publics at least once every few years.

Cole VonHandorf is so good he's rated the 4th and 8th best player in the 9th region. Impressive for the sophomore.

I am torn between who I would like to see win here. I am an NKY guy but usually root for my Catholic brethren. But I would love to see Coach Brossart get the win here. He has really changed the mindset at Dixie. Years ago I was in Dixie's locker room. They literally had a plaque on the wall celebrating their 04' 2ND ROUND win over Trinity. This is a few years after that too. They had larger plaques commemorating 6-4 and 7-3 win seasons that said 4th place N.K.A.C. on them. I thought it was kind of embarrassing to celebrate so much mediocrity. I have been told that Brossart has changed all that. This is not your older brothers Dixie Colonels that were full of miscues and bad technique. This team will run it right down your throat and gang tackle on defense. This senior class took their lumps as sophomores, improved leaps and bounds as juniors, and are close to the top of the mountain as seniors. Dixie CAN win this game. I would be surprised by a large Dixie win but nothing else would surprise me. Best of luck to both teams.

Was just about to mention this. Kentucky sets enrollments based on the male enrollments for all four grades. Ohio only uses three grades.

Yes to all three. I'd say very soundly too. It wouldn't be pretty though. I don't think Scott has ever been within two scores of CCH.

Just out of curiously, what are the maxed out numbers for Lex Cath?

Always wanted Cov Cath and Lex Cath to play each other more in football during the regular season. Maybe it will happen now. But good for Lex Cath. I can only see this benefiting them more than hurting them.

I haven't heard to much but I heard less than 20. Not sure if that is in the area or the country though. I can't imagine only 20 schools across the country applied for 15 spots though. The official numbers have to be out there somewhere. Not sure if they will ever really say though. What is comes down to, if your school did not apply then you can't complain about anything (not saying you are, just in general).

31-13 Highlands. Cov Cath with three turnovers, two deep in Highlands territory.

Not trying to trash talk about any kid. Highlands has always done a good job of hiding kids flaws with good technique and a solid game plan. I am sure the kids will greatly improve and help carry on the Highlands legacy. But is it true that the talent level in the freshmen and sophomore is not has high as Highlands has been used to over the past 7-8 years?

I might be misreading what you said. But 06 was the last time the cch varsity has beaten highlands. The cch freshman lost a close one that year. But cch JV beat highlands in 09 maybe 08 I am pretty sure.

I'll believe in the drop in talent at Highlands when I see it. Until then, I'm going to think they have one heck of a team.
