  1. 2 things to point out before the parade starts - technically, Brossart is a 2A school this year and Bracken Co. is 1A - just sayin. And Bracken County is not having a stellar year so far, losing 52-6, 42-0 and now 40-0. Celebrate your wins, but keep it in perspective.
  2. Are you saying if Ryle didn't have their injured player they would have swept Scott defeating them even worse than NDA did? Didn't NDA sweep Scott 25-18, 25-8, 25-16, with Scott never having the lead?
  3. They won it all in 2012 and 2013 - is that recent enough for you?
  4. Most 10am or earlier kickoffs: Covington Catholic
  5. You mean other than Central Michigan killing Purdue at Purdue and Northern Illinois beating Northwestern for the first time ever - also another home loss for Northwestern.... Plus Iowa, Illinois, and Maryland barely winning....Plus the previously mentioned big 3 all losing. Wisconsin should win the Big Ten now, but what a hollow championship it will be.
  6. If you were making a HS football map of the USA, and you could only put 1 team logo on the map from each state, for KY it would be Highlands or Trinity, just like for Ohio it would be Moeller, and Indiana it would be Warren Central, Alabama it would be Hoover, and Florida it would be St. Thomas Aquinas.
  7. Technically - there's no rule against yelling/noisemaking during a serve - and that applies to players, coaches, the bench, and fans. Obviously, you can't bring in air horns or whistles or anything that is already banned, and you can't yell expletives or personal insults directed at the team or one player. But then there's the good old catch all - the "unsportsmanlike behavior" clause, subject to interpretation by officials. If an official thinks it's too much, they will envoke that clause. But the point of "too much" is going to vary. The bottom line is you can make noise, as long as it's clean and not out of control in the officials' eyes. That threshold will vary.
  8. 26-24, 26-24, 25-22. Thus endeth all discussion as to whether Cooper is a contender.
  9. Teams that start their Varsity games at 10am or earlier are 2-0. Maybe more sunshine is the answer. See what I did there
  10. I blame the Lousiville Purge for Trinity's rough start. Also, as we all know, Simon Kenton is the most dominant football team in the history of history and people are leaving every county in KY to move to Independence to completely dominate classes 1A-6A and any future classes not yet invented.
  11. Losing 2 straight to Scott kind of takes the shine off of Conner pushing Ryle a little bit. I think there's a logjam of teams in the middle of the pack that are hard to get a read on becuase they all play each other and there's no one team dominating . . . Conner Highlands Simon Kenton Scott Campbell County NCC ? Brossart ?
  12. I think CC has to win a game first Highlands 23 Campbell County 16 - 2014 Highlands 50 Campbell County 8 - 2013 Highlands 44 Campbell County 0 - 2004 Highlands 35 Campbell County 7 - 2003 Highlands 62 Campbell County 7 - 2002 Highlands 42 Campbell County 0 - 2001 Highlands 41 Campbell County 14 - 2000 Highlands 57 Campbell County 20 - 1999 Highlands 88 Campbell County 12 - 1998
  13. Aren't kids at both schools paying tuition? How is that unfair?
  14. If u care about soccer beyond just the 10th, 9th, and 8th Regions....
  15. In all fairness, I think those are your 3 biggest games this week.
  16. You are completely dead wrong. Nowhere in KHSAA Bylaw 4, Section 3 is the word "supplement" used. Those are your words. Because it would be hard to find an opponent that would let them get on the field under the current regulations for soccer.
  17. You're saying a player has the right to be on a team just because they are an upperclassmen, and the coach shouldn't keep middle schoolers and cut upperclassmen even if said coach thinks the middle schoolers are better players and can help the team. Interesting. I never saw a spot on a roster as a right.
  18. I think you 2 need to get your stories straight.
  19. Ryle won 3-0 without one of the best players in the state, St. Henry swept Cooper 3-0, NCC is without their starting middle, and Highlands/SK went 5 sets which tells me they are evenly matched. Haven't seen an upset yet.
  20. 25-19, 25-18, 25-19. Nice team win by St. Henry over the team some on BGP say is the team to watch in the 9th. Let's review: I think you overlooked at least one match before then.... you have 2 left After 2 weeks? Had enough to sweep Cooper So players from those 3 schools don't deserve credit because they consistently win matches? I'll stick with Ryle, NDA, St Henry to win the 9th. Really going out on a limb.
  21. I disagree AC is not a factor. It's not at the top of the list, and there are many more important factors, but if it's not a factor then why did BBHS just put it in and why is HC doing a pledge drive now to get it? As the last 2 posts show, it's quite disruptive not having it. and basketball is a winter sport - not really a factor then unless you want to ice the shooter.
  22. Come on Ram, this is all u got? This week's game is even earlier than last week, and last week u went on a 7 page rant on why starting a Varsity game anytime the time ends with "am" is a crime against football. You getting used to it now?
  23. I just remember seeing somewhere that last year was supposed to be SK's year, they were all set up to win the Region at home and then got upset in the semi's. Last year SK lost to Ryle, Cooper, NDA, beat NCC, spilt with Scott, and went 2-1 against Camels. I don't see how they are going to improve on that against those teams this year. But playing them will make SK better when it's time to play teams in the 8th.
  24. Reasons? How will they fare against NCC, Ryle, NDA, Scott, Campbell County, and Cooper?
  25. Again, I refer all to Trinity's schedule. That's how you do it.
