Even their schedule on KHSAA appears to be missing half the games. If you are a struggling private school, and you do something positive, you might want to let people know about it. It may attract some students.

Are the lights on at Brossart? They had this great weekend and nothing on website, not even a schedule or roster for volleyball team. Twitter and Facebook also appear dead. Guess with no AD that stuff doesn't get done anymore.

I don't know. That's why I'm asking. Do players find it hard to play a HS sport like girl's soccer that has no fan following and no "buzz" about it in a school and a town that's centered around the football team? Is it easier, harder, or the same as anywhere else?

With all of the attention and support football generates at Highlands, do the other fall sports, especially the girls' sports, feel left out in the cold? I know "officially" no one will say that, but it must be hard to play girl's soccer at a place where the football team owns the school.

Good decision for her. You get better by practicing and playing with players that are as talented, or more talented, than you.

Seeding the first tourney of the year is extremely difficult with nothing to base it on. Sometimes finishing 2nd day 1 is an easier path, sometimes it's not. But usually teams that make it to the gold or championship pool earn it in some way.

I don't see what's changing. The 9th region has been around since 03 and no public school has ever won it. NCC dominated the 10th region before they got moved out of it.

It's more than that. NDA attracts students from all over - "non-feeder" schools, public schools, even Ohio. Great academics and great sports makes a powerful combo.

That was in 1998 at Highlands. I was actually wondering who the Highlands coach was, who up by 6TD's, was still throwing the ball with their starting QB still in. That's winning with class.

How do you explain Ryle's success? and Campbell County has won the Region the last 2 years in a row.

Wow are you out of touch. College coaches don't attend HS Games. The only way to get a scholarship is to play club. Look at it this way - the top club players don't need to play more club because, well, they're the top players and already have coaches interested - so playing HS isn't going to hurt their exposure. And the bottom club players have probably maxed out their talent - so playing more club isn't going to help them either. But that big middle talent core of club players - players that still have room for improvement, that could become a top tier player, that need some more exposure against players with similar talent, for them HS is not going to help them from a soccer standpoint. Club year 'round is a better option. Unless your HS team has dedicated soccer players, going out there with a bunch of softball and basketball players is a waste from a soccer standpoint. If you think so little of club sports, they why are you paying for it? Perhaps you are at the wrong club if you think it's a money grab. These days, players play HS to stay in shape for club, not the other way around. And it's that way for all sports that have a club option. Everyone will say it shouldn't be that way, but that's the way it is.

I think Highlands has a chance to win their district this year. NCC graduated a lot and may be down? The 9th is a beast at the top and finishing 2nd in district puts you against Ryle, St. Henry, or NDA - all which will end your season quickly. Gotta finish 1st.

No upsets after Friday's pool play, as expected. Play continues Saturday. Sticking with Ryle as my pick. Held opponents to single digits on Friday.

I agree with all that except there's absolutely no denying the top volleyball talent is in Louisville. NKY 2nd. Been that way for 20 years.

A rather ignorant assumption. It's been 15 years since NCC lost to Dayton or Bellevue, helped in part by the fact that they no longer play them anymore given the beat downs administered by NCC in their most recent meetings.
