Open coaching jobs?

Featured Replies

Wonder what schools are looking for new coaches this next year?

I know HHS coach is not returning. Not sure if they have a replacement in mind.

Schulte no longer at Beechwood after a pretty good season. Tigers beat Region 10 Champ Campbell County, a decent Simon Kenton team, went 2-1 vs Holy Cross, split vs NCC, and pretty much defeated all the other local schools (should have beat Conner!). They even took a set from ND.

Any idea why she left? Thought she was making good strides with that program.

The word is that Alyx is leaving to become a coach at NCC. Not sure if that is true, but that is the word. Alyx leaving at this late stage puts the Athletic Director in a bad spot as she tries to find a coach.

It should be noted that Beechwood will have a young team this year, but by far the majority play club volleyball. A lot of the numbers will come from the incoming Freshman class, but there are also a lot of Sophomores. I think the best days of Beechwood volleyball are ahead of them.

While I suppose some club volleyball is better than none, don't be mislead by this. Playing club doesn't automatically make you good. Just like AAU basketball, travel team Softball, and club Soccer, there is a wide range of club volleyball being played right now in the Greater Cincinnati/NKY area. Some local clubs compete at the highest national level against other high end teams from around the country, while some are little more than glorified rec teams. As wide of a range of talent there is in teams from different high schools, the same can be said of local club volleyball teams.

Since ND also has a new coach, does this mean NCC and ND will finally schedule each other in the regular season?

NDA does not need another weak team on its schedule. Buck is from the GGCL so the hope is NDA gets Ursaline and McNick back in the schedule and any other GGCL school as they are almost all better than NCC. With Dion Reyes going to Seton, the hope is NDA can renew that long standing rivalry as he returns Seton to its former strength.

As for Alyx Schulte, held a meeting last Thursday with her Beechwood team. Going to NCC JV. This is a good move for her. She's a young coach with lots to learn and Vicki/NCC is a good fit. Plus the draw of family, being an alum, etc.

Do feel bad for Beechwood. It's late as most schools have started Open Gyms, etc. Not many coaches out there wanting to coach high school because of the out of control parents. Gonna be hard to find quality at this point. But Alyx was unproven as well when she got the job and did ok.

Did I hear the Campbell County job is now open?

If it is, I hope it was Kim's decision, not anyone else's. 2 straight Region 10 titles and reigning Region 10 coach of the year.

Campbell county job is open. She left on her own. Only thing wrong with this decision is its made very late and now its a scramble to find a coach. Hopefully the administration finds someone quickly that is qualified and will push these girls

Montgomery County job is open.

Southwestern job is open.

AMEN! Now if we can only get the clubs to recognize this. :)
