The last time Danville won, they were able to compete up front. There wont be any sprint races going on as far as I know. If danville can stalemate the front they will be in the game. If not, then they wont be.

You can rest assured that my comments were with tongue in cheek. I think GC could be that "under the radar" team that will be much better than many expect.

I saw GC at a local 7 on 7 last week. I think they may be OK skill wise. Looked like they have pretty good numbers. Played quite a few kids in the 7 on 7 with a slew of young ones on the lower field. Any word on their overall progress? Or has JP consented to be the 3rd or 4th best team in that district. From other threads, sounds like they should just throw in the towel.

THe answer to the main question of Why...................We do not have enough football playing schools in our state to configure a fully functional 6 class system.

Seems like alot of cart before the horse on this thread. Garrard will be competitive with anyone on their schedule if: they shore up the kicking game, develop depth up front (after losing multiple OL/DL), stay healthy, stay physical, and stay off BGP message boards.:sssh:

The Garrard team I watched last year vs Danville and Bourbon was not a finesse team by any means.

Garrard will need to improve immensely in their kicking game. Too many short fields on KO this past year. Need an EP kicker as well

Danville may have just become irrelevant in another female sport. Gambrel gets out of Track----immediate drop in program--------Perry gets out of softball--------immediate drop in program-------Mason gets out of basketball------------?????? Coaching sports at Danville is not for the faint of heart.

This is just one of many peculiar hires over the last 3 years in the commonwealth. There is an epidemic statewide. I think its called "eggheadonomics".:popcorn:

I only got to see Trinity early in the season in the Lex Cath tourney. Also got to see Henderson, Cov Cath, Lex Cath and Boyle (several times). Also got to see New Cath in the all A. At that point I thought Henderson and New Cath looked better than all the others. After watching the quarterfinals of the state tourney, The 2 teams that stood out the most to me were Owensboro (overall personna) and Cov Cath (toughness and style of play. I think Owensboro was certainly the best team in ky over the last 3 weeks if not sooner.

I think a couple of these guys starred in fb the during the '80 season as well.

Rebs had a great run. BG put their stamp on this game with a 15-2 run after Boyle came out of the gate with a 5-0 flurry. BG did a great job on the boards and kept a workable margin from about midway 1st half to the final horn. Rebs played extremely hard, but it was not their night. Still, winning the 12th and then knocking out 2 upper echelon teams cannot and will not go unrecognized. Great job! Go 12th, Go Rebs

State tourney was extremely competitive this year in the large majority of games. Kudos to all the participants and to the champion, methodical, "old school" Lady Indians of Cov Holy Cross.
