What school does Damien Harris pick?
The poll weighs heavy to the SEC. This probably means he will go to OSU.

Lex Cath Traditional Bank top performers
Seeing this thread reminds me of the origins of this tourney and the old gym (which I actually played in 1 time). That tourney included Elton Brand (DUKE), Kareem Shabaaz (PROVIDENCE ?), Kenny Gregory (KANSAS), Jaron Brown (PITT), Vanhoose (MARSHALL?), and a slew of other unbelievable players. I think the next year Southern Lab and Maine Central Institute brought in some freakish talent along with another stellar crop of teams. My Christmas Holiday season was set around this tourney. It is still a great tourney, but those 1st couple years wer just a must for basketball junkies.

Team Kentucky
Simmons is worth 10 points in mind games alone. Probably will be worth another 40 onthe court with everything else he does.

With season half over who are the best teams in 12th region?
Southwestern appears to be the best suited to win a region at this point. Boyle has some intriguing players, who could explode at tourney time. Lincoln will be playing at home in the region. West Jess has been very tough in this region since coming over from the 11th and can never be counted out. And Wayne is... Wayne, which means they are always a player in this region. I would be surprised if anyone other than someone from this group will be 12th region champs. Basically clear as mud at this juncture of the season.

Who is #1 right now?
Anyone who beats Manual, Trinity, and Lex Cath ---back to back to back is in my top 5 if not top 3. Hendo is in the conversation

Fewest points scored in a game
Feb 27 2006 Danville-79 KSD--2. Like watching paint dry

Lexington Catholic 65 Boyle County 47
I think it was assumed Cov Cath or Apollo would be playing Lex Cath. Boyle was probably not considered to be a factor. It would have been the 3rd game for those schools.

When the brackets were put together, it was probably assumed Boyle would not be in that spot.

LC has not lost to a KY team this year as of yet. They have lost some out of state games.

All "A" State Brackets Released
I am not sure if anyone cares about the mega schools. When I watch highlites on tv, I dont see any more patrons in the stands per capita as I see for smaller schools. By the way, I am not sure this is a truly small school event like it used to be. (i.e. Dilce Combs vs Fulton Co in the boys many moons ago)

Josh Jaggers resigns from Larue County
[quote=PurplePride92;. Now closed door politics have forced him out. He will bounce back for sure but he deserved better from a school he gave so much to. His loyalty shouldn't have been trampled on the way it was this morning. Oil and water--Poltics and Loyalty. They dont mix

Breaking News: Boyle County's Coach Mason leaves the coaching staff
This would not be a shock. I wouldnt be surprised to see a couple area schools have changes in coaches, especially if Pardue moves. Could be another crazy winter.

Josh Jaggers resigns from Larue County
Every school system has its own politics. Admin deal with perception rather than reality. I have seen the exact same thing happen at danville. You dont know what you had until its gone. I expect it will work out well for coach Jaggers, just as it worked out well for my bddy at danville.

Boyle County 82 Spencer County 56
Glad to here that Josiah is playing. He is obviously a very good athlete. Him playing just solidifies in my mind what Ive always thought. He is a true competitor that really is there to be with his buddies and do what he can to help the team WIN. A true throwback three sport athlete. You dont get to see that alot any more.Gotta love it.

The KHSAA has assessed sanctions against a crew of five football officials
Not to get off subject, but what calls (not necessarily penalties) can nullify a TD in progress. 1. Holding, 2. Clipping, 3. Illegal formation, 4. Stepped out of bounds, 5. Down by contact (knee, forearm), 6. Hurdling, 7. Runner grabs facemask of opponent, 8. Offensive pass interference, 9. Illegal participation. Any others?

THX. As I said previously, score the TD and then look at the penalty options. Apparently this violation was the 2nd, so the max penalty would be 5 yards. Since it is a dead ball situation at the conclusion of the play and the play is a TD then I would assume that the opposing coach would have the option to take the penalty either on the PAT or KO. CSR

Not interested in bending any rule. Simply wanting good judgement in applying penalty to the aforementioned violation. If you are not 100% sure use common sense.

Sometimes the best rule is CSR..... Common Sense Rule. Score the TD and then give the option for the penalty. Err on the side of good judgement.

Danville 2014/15
Like most years. Danville will be small and quick. They will definitely need to stay healthy during the season and use pressure defense to open up the floor to even out their lack of size. I would expect Mercer and PSW to be the top teams in the 12th region, but the lady ads could be a spoiler late in the year.

Prestonsburg 40 Danville 23
Danville returns 2 DT and 2 DE. They return 3 OL, QB, and a couple skill guys who werent keys this year but will be next year. I expect danviile to be fighting it out with Middlesboro for the 3 seed in the next couple years. Hope I am wrong
