  1. Calloway County has won four straight games for the first time since 2008. They get Hopkinsville next week.
  2. Dontae Smith ran for 206 yards for Union, who blew a 13-0 fourth quarter lead only to score late and win.
  3. Pretty much. If Trigg County pulls off the upset in two weeks, Union, Trigg, and Fort Campbell would be tied on points. Union, by virtue of beating paper tigers Crittenden County and Hart County, would win the points tie-breaker. Interestingly, Trigg would likely claim the fourth seed on points over Fort Campbell, the team that beat them by 20 three weeks ago.
  4. Todd County's second double overtime loss this year. I've never known a HS team to do that.
  5. Tilghman scored 36 points in the first quarter. Scored five touchdowns on their first 11 plays from scrimmage.
  6. Both teams come into this one banged up. Trigg has had trouble running the ball and stopping the pass. Dunigan is likely out for Tilghman. Trigg has not beaten Tilghman in five career meetings and has never scored more than nine points against them
  7. South Warren should be number one. They have played a tougher schedule with a similar margin of victory than Johnson Central.
  8. Jaggers isn't a coaching option at Trigg as much as he may want to be.
  9. Jaggers isn't walking through that door fellas
  10. I don't think anyone who follows HS football closely thought KCD would be within two TDs of Adair. Not sure where the upset talk came from
  11. It's amazing that pretty much anyone who comes in off the street can ref an official KHSAA sport. Can you imagine if Uncle Bob wanted to ref a basketball game or Aunt Susie wanted to call bases in a softball game?
  12. Hopkinsville sophomore QB Jalen Johnson threw for 160 yards and three TDs. He also ran for two more. Fort Campbell lost six fumbles
  13. Trigg's quarterback Tyreke Wilson threw for 208 yards and ran for 111 yards in the win for Trigg. Caverna QB Devon Paul ran for over 100 yards.
  14. I know an assistant coach was tossed for unsportsmanlike conduct. I didn't hear anything about trash and slash
  15. Graves County is a solid team. Their freshman QB is going to be a good one and their line is good as well
  16. Meijer in Bowling Green and Cumberland Falls are two with good fields that never get the same publicity KOB or Republic Bank get
  17. Still trying to recover from the Duffy era
  18. I've always said Fort Campbell has the biggest home field advantage in the state. If you get past the screening, you drive past tanks and copters to the field. Who else has that? In the past, Fort Campbell has always e-mailed the coach and athletic director of the opponent and told them what fans have to do to get on post, that they should arrive early, have license, registration, and insurance, etc. They have switched ADs this year. Not sure if that notification was made, but Mayfield visited there two years ago and not much has changed. New coach Josh McKillip said this was the first time in 20+ years he can remember the program not getting a single transfer in to play football -- good player or bad player. Troop deployment and movement is in flux right now and not a lot of movement.
  19. Larger newspapers across the country are cutting back sports staff at the expense of high school sports. The Tennessean went through this a few years back. It's a shame, but newspapers have always been behind the curve when it comes to adapting to changing times.
  20. No one is ever going to agree with a player ranking list. No one is going to agree with a team ranking list. Why? No one. I mean no one gets to see every player and every team on a regular basis. ukfan could not list five players from western Kentucky without looking in the same way I couldn't list five players from eastern Kentucky without looking. It's Jason's list on how he sees it. I don't remember seeing the words 'gospel' or 'perfect' in the headline. I think The Postman is one of Kevin Costner's better movies. No one will agree with me on that. And you aren't going to change my mind. That's how rankings are. It's also how complaints are because I have not seen anyone on here counter offer a top 50 list or even list 10 northern Kentucky players that should be on the list.
  21. The Hopkinsville newspaper jumped the gun and had a tweet that said former UL player Ellis Myles had gotten the coaching job. They have since backtracked to say he was interviewed.
  22. Webster, Crittenden, and Logan look like good bets to end the streak
  23. Scott Sivills won three region titles at Calloway County, the most recent in 2011. He won 302 games in 17 seasons at Calloway County. LINK TO THE STORY
  24. Josh McKillip, the defensive coordinator for Fort Campbell's 2007-09 state title football teams, has been named the new Fort Campbell head coach. WKDZ 106.5 FM - Josh McKillip Named Fort Campbell Football Coach
  25. Tony Butler has resigned after an 8-15 record in two seasons as head coach. WKDZ 106.5 FM - Tony Butler Resigns As Fort Campbell Football Coach
