Hopkins County Central 2015

Featured Replies

What does Hopkins County Central need to do to improve in 2015? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Nobody in Kentucky needs a win worse than Hopkins County Central. Does anyone have a final schedule to post so we can see where some potential wins might lie?

Our boys played them last year and it wasn't pretty. One of the weakest football teams I have ever seen. I don't know if it was coaching, injuries, or they just can't get boys to play football there. I hate to see a program struggle like they have. A parent from there said that they are close to breaking the record for the longest losing streak in state history. I don't know if that's true but I hope they steal a win somewhere.

Hopkins County Central has lost 37 consecutive ballgames. Their last win was over Muhlenberg County on September 23, 2011. During the streak, the Storm have been outscored 1,653-239, an average of 45-6. They have been shutout 14 times while only scoring in double figures 8 times. Only twice in 37 games has Hopkins Central scored over 20 points in a game.

So the question is, can they break the streak this season?

Aug. 21 - Webster County (H)

Aug. 28 - Crittenden County (A)

Sept. 4 - Muhlenberg County (A)

Sept. 11 - Breckinridge County (A)

Sept. 18 - McLean County (A)

Sept. 25 - Logan County (H) (Logan has lost 23 in a row)

Oct. 2 - Calloway County (A)

Oct. 9 - Madisonville-North Hopkins (A)

Oct. 16 - OPEN

Oct. 23 - Hopkinsville (H)

Oct. 30 - Union County (H)

I'll call it first. They will break the streak. Not only will they break the streak, but I bet they win 3-4 ballgames.

Webster, Crittenden, and Logan look like good bets to end the streak

I thought expectations were high for Crittenden? Webster and Logan would seem like possibilities.

Crittenden returns 9 starters on both sides of the ball and they beat them pretty well last year as welll as the last 3-4 yrs, so i dont think Crittenden is a win for Hopkins Central.... Webster is a very good possibility since their coaching situation is in such a bad place..although it was Websters only win last season

As an alumni of this program, it is hard to see this happen. When I was playing there, we had a fighter's chance in every game, even when we were in the crowded 3A district with Tilghman and Hopkinsville. We were never great, but it was more about trying to get over the hump instead of trying to find a winnable game on the schedule.

I'm not in the area anymore, so I don't know what the issues facing the program are, but I know it would be great to see some sort of turnaround in Morton's Gap.
