Many of the teams Trigg is playing year in and out are just getting better. The best coach you had was Higgens.

Guys. You are basically back to the Dixie Jones era. Colby may have coached with Higgins but he has Dixie back on the sidelines and the mediocre teams like Dixie had is back.

This is true. Colby is a great guy who loves Wildcat football like no other. But I too believe time has come for a change. Higgins was our best recent coach but The Joe Jaggers Ken Barrett combo is one of the best ever in the state,let alone Trigg history in my opinion.But that was a long time ago.

What was the name of that running back Trigg County had a long time ago that was so good? He was huge and I think Trigg made a deep couple playoff runs with him?

You are probably thinking of Al Baker. Father of the current Ashland star RB, Quinton Baker. His dad went onto UK after playing at Trigg in the 80's.

 

Selby Grubbs was the running back on the 71 and 72 State Championship teams.

 

Stay positive Trigg County. Every program has it's down years.

 

I'm sure the success that Caldwell County is having right now doesn't help matters much, but just for arguments sake, David Barnes and the very good coach that he is had a 25-20 record from 07-10 with one playoff win. In comparison, Coach Lewis' record from 11-14 was 26-21 with one playoff win.

 

Trigg took a massive hit to graduation last year, but I hear some nice talent is on the way.

Trigg is and has always been a program that cycles up and down. They are on a down cycle right now. There are many programs that go through these swings in talent. The good programs weather the storm and understand it's hard to win without players. The crappy programs fire people and lose coaches.

Jaggers wants to coach as he applied for the Paducah two times and wants the job in Christian if one of the schools come open. He might or might not want to coach at his hometown school? Would be a good one if they decided to make a change.
