If they only have 2 votes and vote for coach X and I have 4 and vote for coach Y, and coach Y not being Mercer how does that favor Mercer? If you have a real close race one or two teams carrying 4+ votes can swing the vote. Never heard of a voting process like that. Each team should get the same number of votes.

As young as SC is, these are the type of scores I expected thru out the year. Not every game, but at least a few. They haven't been hammered much, and will only get better from here.

These guys got a legit chance to win it all. A few lucky bounces and they may pull it off.

If I'm a developer at Apple, I have logic sitting on my desk that bypasses the encryption call that fires when the phone is powered up. There's no way when testing new logic , I enter in a # passcode each time to get to my new logic. This is a dog an pony show by Apple. Break into this one phone in your offices, dump the contents and give to FBI. They might just save a few innocent lives.

I was hoping Poynter might be pulled to the Moco job, but that would make to much sense for Moco and I'm sure they wouldn't hire him. The guy has turned around several programs, that I thought were beyond fixing. He simply wins. @Altcat and @All the Right Moves those are both good posts that are both on the money. Bath is in a good spot to grow as a program over the next couple years.

You are 100% correct. That's why the region is so even, and why the region Is average compared to some of the other regions. With that said, any team landing in the Cinderella bracket at the state tournament has a valid chance to win a few games.

The crowd wasn't what you would think for two of the teams in the hunt for the region title. Having one turnover was very impressive for mason co, and very disturbing for moco. If your defense can't generate more than one turnover, it will be hard to win close games. Good clean game where both teams were both making shoots. I also came away thinking neither team was really showing their full hand in a game that really didn't mean a lot. In a win or go home game, I don't see moco playing m2m against many if any 10th region teams. They struggle guarding the ball in m2m. They will open in zone and go m2m only if they get down. I also think Mason might bring more pressure in a one and done setting. Should be a good game if they meet again.

I've seen an upward trend in this behavior over the last 10 years, from both common fans and coaching staffs / score keepers ect ect. From my experiences(that's many) these incidents can be controled or limited if the hosting school will do a little policing of the fans/crowds. There's good yelling (ie. Booing the ref) to bad bad yelling (ie. Yelling insulting comments at a kid). Coaches need to inform administrators an police about abusive fans who cross the line so they can be removed. Coaches and representatives from the school should never respond to the nuts in the crowd, it simply in flames the situation. If it gets to bad and the schools administration refuses to do anything, I have no problem with the coach removing the team from this situation. I've actually seen several good referees, stop games, get police and remove the clowns. After seeing so many events like the one described in this thread, I find myself checking out the level of police force assigned to the game as I walk in. Some schools clearly take it serious while others appear to be asking for problems.

Whoever gets the job, his first task will be to begin building relationships thru out the program with the kids. The numbers at mchs have been very disappointing for a school of this size. The facilities are second to none. The district is not overloaded with state powers. The community provides nice support. Its not a job that appears to come with a lot of pressure to win. Moco has been decent over the last few years, but never really taking it to the next level. I attribute this to the low player numbers. They play way to many kids both ways to be a 5a contender.

What a difference a year makes. So glad to see Ashland give this young guy a chance to coach. Ashland basketball is definitely trending up.
