I agree with everything you said. I would however like to see the school system hire a mentor for Matt. He's a very young coach who could only benefit from someone to bounce ideas and strategies off of.

I honestly never heard about a trust. Indians can you elaborate what this is? How much is in it? Who administers the trust? Any info would be much appreciated.

All true. However Combs should never be in man to man situation with any of the Augusta kids. Moco's lack of a credible game plan made Augusta's look even better.

1st,2,3 or fourth quarter in a win or go home game, if you can't guard me man to man, im up 17 there's no way im attacking a zone defense. Like previously mentioned, pull ball out and force mason guards to guard you, thus creating space and driving lanes. Biggs had to be giddy watching them continue to try to score against the zone. Mind boggling.

Congratulations to Augusta, you controlled and dominated this game from the tip. You are an absolute pleasure to watch. There's not many moco posters on here that post game analysis (me an Rez)but I would like to here their take. I've watched moco from the beginning of the season to last night and I've never understood what/why/when and how their coaching staff thought that was a man to man team. Am I the only moco follower that could see that? Augusta exploited their lack to guard over and over again. This team lived by the three and died by three. When they are making shots they can play with anyone. Games like this was sprinkled thru out the season, the coaching staff was never able to adjust their game plans for bad shooting nights. The mismatches on the inside last night looked like high schoolers vs middle schoolers. Combs was being guarded by the pg for crying out loud. Please throw him the ball. The moco team was out coached miserably by Kirk and his staff. Hats off to them.

Yes fouls created this situation for "jack". For every kid that's been on the bench(all of us) and don't get a lot clock, "jack" made you proud. To sit there for an entire game, warm-up still on, no sweat broken, the bright lights shinning and be inserted in that situation had to be off the charts crazy for "jack". For those not there you missed something special, the Augusta regulars found "jack" not once but twice on the same play same spot cutting baseline like "jack's" done it a thousand times. Each time his teammates never hesitated, the ball was simply passed to the open man. Jack if your reading this I want to thank you. You and your teammates are what hs basketball is suppose to be about. It's a game I'll never forget and I'm sure you won't either.

This certainly helped, but PC not getting Allen the ball on the floor in spots were he can be successful was a big part of the loss. Moco played well enough to win, but PC has to do more for Allen to get a touch each possession. Every trip he didn't get a touch I thought moco inched further away.

Harry, that's really the truth about this job and many others across the state. To be honest the participation at moco for football is at about a 3a level. I've never understood that with the fantastic facilities they have. Before you could realistically expect any coach at moco to compete year in an year out at the 5a level the numbers have to go up. I'm not privy to the list of coaches that applied, but im guessing it wasn't filled with superstars based on Harry's analysis of 5a football. I can't list them all, but there's been a good coach or two at moco throughout the years and they couldn't get it done either. Can someone give me a list from the last 15 to 20 years?

Several of those people on the committee have a football/sports background. Gold eagle, Are you aware of what has happened the last couple years in the Montgomery co school system? I've already said if the principles picks "his" guy, and his guy is the best applicant than thats great. However, if we are just hiring our pals, cousins, buddies ect ect at the cost of the kids then thats wrong. Some of these folks still in our school system lived thru the previous administration and should want to be transparent at every step of the hiring process. If that's to much to ask, then Montgomery co schools are no better today than they were 3 years ago under Josh Powell. Same ole same.
