Why?? Just a guess, when people consume hour after hour of police brutality via all forms of media then mix that with a mental or drug issue I think things like this will happen. Non compliance then becomes a combative situation. I'm sure there's a lot of these already but in the current climate these incidents have to be on the rise. From the stance he took and his lack of compling to the officers commands, how many here on BGP would have... 1. Waited to see if it was a gun. Ie he gets a shot off OR 2. Shot him as his hand is coming from his pocket. I'm talking as if you are the cop that's standing directly in front of him in the picture.

Wasn't thinking about this yesterday. If you stopped drugs from flowing into this country from external sources how would the black community react. Short term I think the black communities would improve, long term I think it remains the same. People will just become more resourceful and introduce different types of drugs manufactured here in the USA. If there's a need someone will step up and fill that need.

I agree totally. My thoughts after first pass of your link are how do we get that girl to respect the rules of the law. This unfortunately will become the norm for police. It will ratchet up the intensity on even the easiest of calls.

Back to Clyde's post. Events like this have to be on the rise nation wide. It makes LEO jobs that much more difficult. How can the lack of respect for police be changed if the only thing we ever see and hear is bad about cops?
