Mchs has and opportunity to hire a great coach in Nathan Mcpeek but the fix is on for a assistant coach that has 0 experience not even a head coordinator experience. Wow

Silly move not to hire McPeek if they get a chance. It's been over 2 years since the KHSAA stuff and people are starting to see the light IMO. More and more schools are doing homework on the situation from what I'm hearing and he's getting more phone calls. I thought he was going to Bell County though from the other threads.

My question is simply this: Especially for people that do not understand what goes into coaching, being a coordinator at many schools is much like being a head coach. You are in charge of practice and scripting, position coaches, philosophy, potentially running practice, etc. Everyone hates the idea of hiring a coordinator, but how exactly does someone get HC experience without someone taking a chance on a proven coordinator that wins? I don't see the problem with hiring a young coordinator who is passionate about building a program that takes a chance on him and is willing to stick around for awhile? Why would you want someone "with experience" that will up and leave in two years when a "better job" becomes available?

I understand but in this example you have a guy that wants to get back in state retirement and you have that in him with much more experience that anybody presently on staff.

I've also heard his name in the mix for the Dunbar job.

McPeek would be perfect at Dunbar. Right down the road from the KHSAA offices, the home of the Herald Leader, a principal and central office that actively works to hold athletics back. He could just coach and there would be no hint of impropriety because of the situation. Please make this happen so sidelinedoc#2 can stop appearing in every job thread and trumpeting the horn.

McPeek is in the mix for every job opening in the state of Kentucky. Some folks act like he is in the drivers seat for most of them.

Coach Sizemore has no head Coordinator experience at all he's a great guy but he's not ready. Coach Lucas has great success rebuilding programs but never stays very long and he's also 61 years old. Jon Gillium has not won very many ballgames in his Boyd County / Rowan career and kids don't really respect him. Nathan Mcpeek is the guy for the Montgomery county job.

Gilliam was at Rowan County for about three weeks and it was during an off season so yeah he didn't have much success there. When is one ready for a head coaching job? What, in your vast knowledge of the game of football, is the criteria for being ready to be a head coach?

You hire a head coach that is a proven winner so you know for sure what you are getting. If he leaves you in 2 years he has probable done a HECK of a job. Hey brother if you can date ms. America even thou you know she wont marry you would you date her? I WOULD!!!!!

I think McPeeks family needs to stay off the threads saying he is the guy!! If he didn't know that Fairview was cheating then he is either the most naïve human on planet earth or how in the world did he get a college degree.

So you would rather have a coach that is a "proven winner" by helping run a program into KHSAA Sanctions instead of having a young, WINNING coach who has been a successful Coordinator that has been around for awhile and will do things the right way?

Coach McPeek would be a good hire, a proven winner, but the KHSAA stuff will always come up, no matter your stance on it. Coach Lucas would also be a good hire, but if they want someone for a long time, his age may hurt him getting the job. By the way Coach Sizemore has been a defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator. Never a head coach, but everyone at one time can say they had never been a head coach. Coach Gilliam has struggled at Boyd County, but I'm not sure what all he had. Did coach on the college level for a long time. I guess the question is, if you are Montgomery County, what are you looking for?
