Mayfield's two young running backs, one a freshman - one a sophomore, picked up big chunks of rushing yards leading to the Cardinals victory. Way too many penalties on both sides.

Verizon in Paducah has 5 G in selected areas of town. And my reasoning above has already been confirmed to me by someone within the Paducah school district.

Internet connectivity came back, full strength, in the stadium at halftime. I suspect PT puts a damper on their campus for students trying to use their phones at schools. I know other districts do this. I think someone at PT recognized this and flipped a switch. It was the difference between night and day once that occured.

Mayfield lived on the Tilghman side of the field in the second half and wiped out a two TD deficit, but couldn't get the stop on defense or a conversion on offense when they needed it most. And how many 15 yard penalties did PT have again this week, 6 or 7 , that's gotta stop. Instead of breaking a 17 game Mayfield winning streak, I prefer to say that Mayfield is 17-1 against PT in the last 18 meetings.

First home game of the year. Their teacher is an Emmy award winning photojournalist, they'll continue to get better.

With this being the first year of home and home series with most clubs, Mayfield will lose another game with the consolidation of H'Town/Christian Co. putting us down to 8. I see no way to fix this but to get a week two bowl game in 2024.

Disagree. McCracken is breaking in a new QB after losing a quality 3 year starter. I saw nothing against PT that makes me think they are "much better".

10 to 1 in first downs in the first half favoring Graves Co. 3 Eagle interceptions kept them out of the end zone until they hit paydirt in the 3rd quarter. Will be interested in what Graves looks like against PT next week.

The 2023 Football season kicks off Thursday 8/17 at 7:00 when NCC visits Lloyd Memorial. You can watch the inaugural game on Lloyd's new field turf on (859) Sports Radio with Mark Wehry, Kevin Connor and Bill Bartlett! This will be the only game being played in the state that day!!

Expecting the already up tempo offense for Mayfield to be even quicker this year. Plenty of scoring drives this season may only last 2 or 3 minutes. Graves wins time of possession, but Mayfield wins the scoreboard.

So from a close game at Mayfield or a blowout at a neutral site. Makes perfect sense to me. SMH

Mayfield holding their own against CAL's Mr. Everything.

Crowd is a little different when Mayfield host sub state. First off, we are THE only game around. Expect to see plenty of letter jackets representing other teams there. Second, old school fans that don't live around here make it back for Thanksgiving and look forward to seeing a team they may catch once every couple of years. When you have company in for the holiday weekend and you live in Mayfield, this is the ONLY thing going Friday night. Great weather should also make for huge, and hopefully rowdy crowd.

Mayfield found themselves in an unusual position last year when CAL came back and took the lead. Cards started pressing and it got away from them quickly. Play every down and make them all count, no wasted plays next week.

Yeah, given up touchdown passes about four or five times this season there, most notably against Corbin. It seams that teams would go "back to the well" until it doesn't work anymore. Very interested to see how we match up next week. Given that these coaches know just how dangerous Wright can be after last year, I cant wait to see what they come up with.

Hilarious

Take away the OC touchdown and they finish the game with 30 yards of offense. It was just a matter of time before Mayfield started rolling up the points. As I expected, this ended up being the most lopsided of the last three. There may be a long line at the confessional this weekend for some of those that call Owensboro home. SMH

Mayfield has gotten bogged down in the red zone twice, settled for 3 each time. OC breaks one big pass on a jump ball catch and takes it to the house. Mayfield is owning the offensive stat line, but only has 13 pts to show for it.

I just want to watch Coach Edge jump up and down and go off on the officials when he doesn't get a call. He's done this last two Mayfield games, it's quite entertaining to watch. I've always thought when your constantly on the officials, you already know that your going to need a few extra breaks to come away with the win. Let's see how quickly he gets a animated tomorrow.
