LCA is the top team in 2A. I'll go ahead and warn Beechwood and Mayfield now.

I think LCA is the team to beat and like I told Coach Charles this morning I expect LCA to win 2A.

Could be true but this feels like the boy who cried wolf. Same story for the last few years. And it gets more and more disrespectful of Beechwood and Mayfield as it is repeated year after year.

People always want to be the first on the "new thing." LCA is great, but until they top the big dogs consistently, it's all just talk.

I have no idea who the best team in 2A is, but its hard to argue that LCA has looked the part the first two weeks of the year. No disrespect to Beechwood or Mayfield, but neither have played anywhere close to the competition that LCA has played, and LCA has faired very well against it.

With that said, no two ways around it, LCA has been bad on defense, albeit against great competition. One can't expect to win games against great teams when you must score 50 points a week to do so. Boley also has to protect the ball better, you can't throw three interceptions and expect to win against Mayfield or Beechwood. 

 I too want to say how under the radar Owensboro Cath is flying right now, they are very good, and I expect them to challenge the big three of the class, and I honestly believe they could beat them if one has an off night or has multiple turnovers. We shall see in due time. 

I will take Mayfield at this point. Beat LCA last year when it counted. They are improved from last season. I am even more confident if they are hosting the playoff game Thanksgiving weekend. 

LCA can’t give up 50 points a game and win a championship, and I know what you’re going to say it was against to great offenses but Mayfield, Beechwood and Owensboro Catholic play pretty good offense as well.

Saw the Boyle game. LCA has a good offense, suspect defense. I like Mayfield at home against them, like LCA at home against Mayfield and about even at a neutral site.

As an LCA fan, move us down to #5. I'd prefer to be a underdog ?

I love when Mayfield and Beechwood get overlooked. This LCA train has been at the station for several years now but just hasn’t been able to get over hump and reach the destination they wanted or in many’s eyes have wanted. I will hold any comments about LCA until they win the big one. They have had really talented teams much like this one but there has always been someone just a little better on that day. Trust me Beechwood learned very quickly last year that on any play your seasons trajectory can be changed by an unfortunate injury. I hope all teams stay healthy and we get to see this final 4 with Owensboro Catholic, Mayfield, Beechwood, and LCA because that would be 3 awesome games at the end of the year worth watching in person. It doesn’t matter the matchups because all the games would be toss ups on who is going to win. Beechwood is the youngest team of this group and have a new coach that has something to prove. Should make for an exciting year……. Boy I love high school football!!!!!

LCA a tremendous schedule.  Beechwood playing CovCath.  Mayfield, besides Tilghman a really weak schedule.  Henderson would normally be a good game but they are rebuilding.  Would love to see Mayfield schedule harder, but maybe that’s the plan.  Weaker 6A teams.  It will probably get them home field though, but not very challenging.

It’s LCA’s to lose this year, just straight up facts from a neutral observer and fan.
