  1. Someone wake me when either Kennemore touch the ball again or this one is over, whichever comes first.
  2. I could see special teams and the defense getting a score or two. Mayfield has gone over 40 against Graves in 3 of the last 4 years, and should do so again this year. 45 - 21 Mayfield
  3. I'm sorry, who won this game last week. I must have read the score wrong.
  4. 7 Union County 5 Crittenden County 3 McCallie TN 2 Warren East 1 Clinton County TB Union County
  5. If you going to slow the game down, like Murray did, you also need to know how to pick up the pace when it's late and you're losing. Like last year, Mayfield was the better team in the 2nd half when it counted the most.
  6. 7) South Warren 5) Hopkinsville 3) Fort Campbell 2) Grayson County 1) Graves County TB) Hopkinsville
  7. The preseason chatter was about all those returning for the Beechies this season, which is great. However, they are returning a team that lost in the quarterfinals, unheard of for the Tigers in Class A. I would guess Frankfort has the bigger grin. In Mayfield its kinda becoming more of a "gee whiz" moment when you guys take an L. I agree with the above comment though, there are enough Beechwood fans on BGP to make these threads more fun.
  8. I'll disagree on the officiating. It was spot on tonight, all were legitimate calls. Just a lot of sloppy play on both sides. These zebras kept the game moving without lenghty delays for discussion. Mayfield's O line just whipped PT up front, big holes for the backs all night. Tight game at the half, but the coaching staff proved why they are the best in the region, other than the long breakaway run, PT had little success in the 2nd half. This scheme just does not seem to fit PT and their athletes. A bland offense and Tilghman were just words that were never heard in the same sentence.
  9. 101st meeting between Mayfield and Paducah
  10. Mayfield starts a winning streak that takes them through the rest of the season. :smug: Mayfield 28 PT 14
  11. Officials tend to let you get away with the coming on to the field when they know they've screwed it up. And they screwed it up multiple times. It's not so much what they did call as to what they didn't call. If you know Coach Morris, you know he doesn't get bent out of shape unless he has a legitimate beef. I've felt for years that Western Kentucky has some of the worst officiating crews you will find. Many of these folks also do basketball and they're even worse then.
  12. I'm going to need to see more out of Russellville than a 2 pt win over Ft Campbell to consider them a major threat
  13. Saw what this young Mayfield team is about tonight, and they will only get better as the season rolls on. I like our chances against the remaining teams on the schedule... Caldwell, PT, Graves, Murray.
  14. I'll need a lot of convincing that there is a better game in Kentucky tonight
  15. Nice to see the fight in Mayfield. There are few times where they have found themselves in this position in the last several years
  16. Guess this wasn't the week the Tiger D got it turned around
  17. 7 Trigg County 5 McCracken County 3 Bourbon County 2 McLean County 1 Lexington Cath TB Trigg County
  18. For Mayfield's part, would love to see this game being played where the Marshall game falls. A few weeks into the season and cooler weather would certainly benefit Mayfield. With that being said, it is what it is. Just think there is still too much that Mayfield needs to improve upon to give them much more than an outside chance of winning this, but stranger things have happened. This is really the year for McCracken Co. to beat up on the rest of West Kentucky. PT down, Mayfield down, Graves down, Marshall always down, Henderson down. It seems that McCracken may wear the region crown more by default than anything else. Can't see the Mustangs getting any deeper than last year unless the next region is down too.
  19. Mayfield threw just enough to mix it up, but a steady dose of Tyler and Bright out of the backfield was all that was really needed. Those two alternated series because of the heat. 2nd half both teams just kind of went through the motions with the heat and a running clock in place. Mayfield is still a work in progress. The real test will come next week, hopefully it will be several degrees cooler in time for what perhaps could be the toughest game of the season on the turf at McCracken.
  20. Here's a little info about the jamboree at Ft. Campbell from last weekend. Looks like the Falcons struggled when it came to finding any offensive rhythm. LINK: Northeast, Fort Campbell claim jamboree wins
  21. Look for McCracken to get after it against Tilghman this year leaving no doubt. Finally the Lone Oak, and now McCracken faithful get that win they've been looking for. 45 to 20 Mustangs.
  22. Last year's final score should work again this year. 37 to 21 Cards
