5A #4 vs. 1A #4. All things being equal Franklin County should roll, correct?

 

I think the more interesting angle is how Beechwood and Frankfort compare based on the result of this game.

 

So who wins, Beechwood or Franklin County? Why?

Last season, Beechwood had Franklin County beaten and let it slip away. The Tigers were up 24-14 in the fourth quarter. To that point, Beechwood had controlled the game. It was especially impressive play by Beechwood's defense that shut down Franklin County's high powered offense. Then Lorenzo McCaskell made a series of great plays for Franklin County and almost single handedly won the game, giving Franklin County a come from behind 27-24 win. I am surprised that McCaskell didn't get a D1 scholarship after the plays I saw him make in this game last year.

 

With McCaskell and Chris Roberts gone from Franklin County, they do not appear to be as strong this year. Even though they are ranked in the top 10 in the state in 5A, I believe Beechwood will go into this game confident they can avenge last year's loss. I will go out on a limb and say I expect Beechwood to win this game.

Give me the Flyers.

Last years game was a tough one...I remember saying that I would not want to have faced them on turf.....well, we get them on turf. I go with Beechwood in a close one. Home team wins.

What is Franklin County like compared to last year? Beechwood looks better.

I will take the Flyers again this year! Franklin County's defense has been outstanding this year! Beechwood has a very impressive team and I look forward to seeing the battle in the trenches. As a team FC is still faster than Beechwood and there are new athletes to replace last years studs.

This will be a true test for BW but after what they did to Frankfort I think Franklin is the stronger team but it is at BW's place...
