  1. ... and I would think you can't penalize Russellville until they lose a game. It appears they are set at the number #2 spot for a few more weeks... minimum.
  2. 7 McCracken Co. 5 Grayson Co. 3 Henderson Co. 2 Monroe Co. 1 Hopkinsville TB McCracken Co.
  3. Puckett threw a pick. Should have been 2. So 1 turnover each side. Graves radio guy says Mayfield is not really 4 td's better than Graves. He's right, this easily could have been 60 something to 21 game. Red zone fumble and a dropped pass for a sure 6 as well as a missed field goal.
  4. Hoping Mayfield plays all out for 4 quarters. 1st 2 looked very good.
  5. Please, it's only halftime. Birds will get this together. However, if they don't that would make them like the 6th best team in West Kentucky.
  6. Got to say, I'm a bit worried as a Mayfield fan about this game. Now that we're down a receiver, I would give Graves Co. a small edge in this one. This game could come down to the last couple of minutes, with the winner escaping by a touchdown or less. It has the potential to be one of the best in the Mayfield/Graves series.
  7. I've got no problem with the top 10. I'm just curious if Mayfield loses this week, which is entirely possible, where might they go in the rankings for next week? With Russellville now at #2, would they slide into #1 with their easy win against Todd Central. Which, by the way, why would you travel all the way to Paducah to play the team in the next county over. Go figure.
  8. Not to derail the thread, but I think Mayfield has them beat on the first, and at the very least, tied on the second point. Beechwood should be able to make this game interesting for a couple of quarters, with Franklin eventually coming out with a two score win... 10 to 14 points.
  9. 7 Caldwell Co. 5 Bowling Green 3 Mayfield 2 Henderson 1 Butler TB Caldwell Co.
  10. About what I had thought scorewise in the prediction thread, but just a round about way of getting to those numbers. With PT last week, a bruising physical game the previous week with the Stangs and crosstown rival Graves next week, I thought they might come down to earth in this one. Would expect a sharper, motivated performance next week, but it should be another tight game. Parity reigns supreme this year with Mayfield, McCracken, Tilghman, Graves, Murray all very close.
  11. Mayfield 31 to 17. If Mayfield does a better job wrapping up, then the margin will be larger. Finally, a night that will feel like football weather.
  12. I wanted to make an argument for Bethlehem as a top 10 team; then I saw that their first 5 opponents have a combined record of zero and 15. So the top 10 looks good to me as is. :thumb:
  13. Big answer for Mayfield in the 4th after the Tornado cut it to 21 to 14. They had been shut down in the 2nd half until that long drive. Turns out that was the difference.
  14. 7 christian co. 5 pulaski co. 3 daviess co 2 graves co. 1 greenwood Tb... greenwood
  15. Can't believe they forgot how to tackle during the half
  16. Great job on the defensive side of the ball by Mayfield. They have come a long way in practice this week. Never would have guessed they would be pitching a shutout at this point.
  17. Mustangs are on their way to the first ever win in school history. 39 to 7 McCracken Co.
  18. 7 Henderson 5 Mayfield 3 Owensboro 2 Warren East 1 Bowling Green Tie ... Warren Easr
  19. Tough to judge with so few 6A teams in this end of the state to watch, but they would certainly be top 10 in any other class. If the Mustangs clean up a few of their mistakes, they are likely to start rolling. It appears that the Henderson/McCracken district game later in the season could be quite entertaining.
  20. If Mayfield gets the score before half and adds the 7 to start the 3rd qtr, this game likely doesn't come to the very end. Would have been 42 to 21 at that point. Kids for Mayfield were passing out walking off the field... fans in the stands passing out too... puking from both teams... cramping almost every play. Give it up for these kids, they gave it everything until the clock hit zero. Highlights are already up at wpsdlocal6.com/sports
  21. It's a slobberknocker down here in West Ky. 28 to 21Cards at the half. Heat is brutal.
  22. Don't know how much the heat will become a factor in this game, but an early season game where a 6A school matches up against 1A Mayfield worries me. I could see the score being quite close to the Tornado/Mustang game... something like 28 to 21 or 27 to 20, with Mayfield coming out ahead. With Tilghman, Mayfield, and McCracken all playing each other in the first 3 weeks, we might have a good idea of how next week's MF/PT could unfold. Alot of folks thought Mayfield could lose a game or two during the first half of the season, and this game with McCracken could certainly be one of those.
  23. 7 Edmonson County 5 Russellville 3 Calloway County 2 AC Scottsville 1 Ohio County
