  1. Longest trip for a district game in several years. Mayfield may take a couple of series to wake up, but will get it going before halftime. 28-0 by half, 42 to 8 final.
  2. I too will reserve judgement until next year, when there is no Jonathan Jackson to run wild out of the backfield keeping the defense honest.
  3. 7... Warren Central 5... Marshall County 3... Paducah Tilghman 2... Warren East 1... Butler County TB... Paducah Tilghman
  4. Harlan is 2-3. Russellville is 3-2, frankly a bit surprising. Hazard is 1-2, albeit against respectable competition. Others have either beaten up on weak teams, as they do every year, to produce winning records. I.E. Fairview's opponents combined record is 4 and 16. Others have stepped up to the plate, as Beechwood does every year, but has yet to deliver. I'm willing to withhold judgement on Williamsburg, but my guess Hazard could take them fairly easily.
  5. Frankfort 1A, Lexington Christian 2A. With LCA knocking off Hazard, I'm betting they get the better of Frankfort too. 40 to 21. LCA
  6. 7 Warren East 5 Henderson County 3 Owensboro 2 Adair County 1 Muhlenberg County TB Henderson County
  7. I would put this team 3rd of the last 3, granted the regular season is only half complete. At the same time, It's starting to look like Class A football may be weaker than in previous years.
  8. Running D was a little spotty at times, looked great and next play would give up a big chunk. Give some credit to Katzman, one of the better backs on this end of the state. Got a very good performance from the secondary, the one pass interference call was even questionable. This is not the same stingy D from the past few seasons, but when you can put up points almost at will, it's not that big of a concern as it otherwise would be. There is still room for improvement though, and I'm sure the D will keep improving. Offense, as mentioned above, tearing it up. When you can throw up over 50 on Graves Co., almost did the same to Paducah, and scored as many points on Murray in a quarter as they had given up all season, that's saying something.
  9. 7 Ohio Co. 5 Adair Co. 3 Franklin Simpson 2 Monroe Co. 1 Marshall Co. TB... Ohio Co.
  10. Toughest game left on Mayfield sked until late November. BGP has taken notice of the Eagles this year, ranking them in the class 5A top 10. After the Tilghman win they may even move up a notch or 2. The fact that Mayfield didn't win by blowout fashion last year shocked a few on the other side of the state. Anyone who knew how tough Graves played everyone last year, and add the fact that this is a rivalry game... it didn't surprise anyone down here in WKY. Graves' spread offense and a mobile QB, combined with a Mayfield secondary still working out the kinks, should find a few more points than the 7 they put up last year in this game. Problem for Graves is, Mayfield has scored no fewer than 28, and that came against Warren Central. Graves is no Warren Central. 38-21 MAYFIELD.
  11. 7pt Bowling Green 5pt Russellville 3pt Monroe county 2pt Caldwell County 1pt Metcalfe County TB Bowling Green
  12. I think everyone will get a better idea of what Frankfort is all about after next week.
  13. Not just 56, but Mayfield had a legitimate shot of hanging 63 on PT. 3 times in the PT red zone and didn't get points, of course the final time they only needed to take a knee. How do you not know as a coach that the when the ball is marked ready for play after a first down that the clock starts again. 2.3 seconds in the 2nd quarter and PT trots their FG unit on to the field. Never got close to getting a snap off. Embarrassing, even the casual fan knows that.
  14. 7... Warren Central 5... Henderson County 3... St. Xavier 2... AC-Scottsville 1... Mayfield TB Henderson County
  15. I'm guessing that Mayfield will be back in 2A before Beechwood cracks that nut. Seems to me that horse would be the food of choice for those semi-final tailgates.
  16. Both systems, with plenty of parent input, decided against such a merger last year.
  17. Has anyone told those in Clinton and Trimble Counties they are now in Western Kentucky? 7 Russellville 5 Barren County 3 Heath 2 Owensboro 1 Trimble TB Owensboro
  18. 7 Hart County 5 Caldwell County 3 Monroe County 2 Lone Oak 1 Mayfield Caldwell County (tie-breaker)
  19. Guhy has certainly matured and bulked up slightly at the QB spot. Still worried that he continues to overshoot his target at times, like last year. Also leaving his receivers out to dry on occasion, some of those guys are going to get popped HARD and never see it coming.
  20. You need to take your gripe up with the front desk at La Quinta, they stated it as FACT. Gosh, security cameras are such great tools. And according to your reasoning, if you don't have a Hazard football jersey on, you're not a Hazard football player. What?
  21. ... and not to get off the thread topic, there really needs to be some kind of mesh netting around that end of the stadium like around the tennis courts. The years of free football should end now. Congrats to the Hazard football team, next year just lay off the fire alarm at the hotel... some of us are still sleeping at 6 in the morning. Cardinals, looking forward to next year. It should be a fun ride in 2012. Thanks to the seniors for making Mayfield football what it is today, you will be missed. A new winning streak starts in Bowling Green next year
