A penalty fest... Had to be at least 25 penalties in the game.. The Cards had 5 false start penalties and 2 or 3 personal fouls, while Graves had at least 7 unsportsmanlike penalties and 3 or 4 facemask penalties..Not to mention all the other penaltes.. Hard to get any flow going either way with a game called like that.. Mayfield's defense was stellar, all night, but, there offense left alot to be desired with all the penalties. The Eagles played solid defensively, but, other than a Crider1st down run or 2, not much offense to speak about.. A win is a win as far as Mayfield's concerned as they've played 4 tough opponents in a row.. They should role the next few weeks with Marshall Co and the 2 Fultons next up for the Cards..

Horrendous officiating,, on BOTH sides,, 22 penalties for over 200 yards. Great defense, offensive play calling was horrible for mayfield. It was a win but did not leave that game pleased.

Great defensive game for Mayfield. Crider is one tough player for Graves. Defense is what wins Championships but I would like to see us be a little more imaginative on offense. I don't think Mayfield was in a good flow offensively this game but Mayfield will get better and should be in the hunt for the 1A title.

Probably the ugliest game I've ever seen. I've always heard refs could throw a flag on every play, but they usually just let some things go. Boy they didn't tonight! I don't know if they were good calls or bad ones, all I know is there were a bunch of em. I will be pretty surprised if crider can make it through the full season with the amount of carries he has. He's a tough kid!

That was perhaps the most cheap shots I have seen in quite some time. Incredibly Poor sportsmanship displayed by Graves County. When you add up the face masks, personal fouls and unsportsmanlikes its at least a touchdowns worth of yards. ..Graves County was Mayfield's 12th man tonight!

What a bunch of cheap shots thrown by Graves. Incredible display of poor sportsmanship. Add up all the intentional face-masks, the unsportsmanlikes ect and its at least a touchdowns worth of yardage. Graves Co was Mayfield's 12th man tonight!

Mayfield finished with 120 yards of total offense for the night. When is the last time that has happened? And how is it a Graves County grad is the lead official for this game?

I heard that last night, I did not think that was allowed.

Paducah Sun has Bright with 127 yards rushing on his own...so I don't think Mayfield only had 120 yards as a team. Still, it was difficult for either team to get into any kind of flow with all the flags flying.

Not to raise a dead issue but, I just got around to reading the Paducah Sun article on this game. I thought the quote was interesting from the Graves Coach that "we just made a few more mistakes than Mayfield did and that was the difference".

Mistakes had nothing to do with Crider gaining 93 yards on 25 carries and not scoring. Mayfield's defense did that.

Mistakes had nothing to do with Mayfield scoring 3 touchdowns...Mayfield's offense did that.

The penalty's were almost even for both teams (10 M-12 G by my count) ..it was the TYPE of penalty that had the highest cost for Graves

Just wanted to set the record straight IMO.

Though ugly, I don't think anyone ever felt the game was in doubt. It was obvious which team was the better team through out the game. Graves was just successful in disrupting the Cards flow. The Cards D was awesome!
